FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA/NEXSTAR) — Have a few $1 bills lying around? Before you spend them, you may want to check if they're worth even more than a buck. Earlier this week, Wealthy Nickel, a finance blog, reminded currency collectors of an error the Bureau of Engraving and Printing made in the last decade. As you likely know, every paper note the U.S. prints — from the lowly $1 bill to the $100 bill — is printed with a serial number. Like your Social Security number, there shouldn't be any duplicates. But, according to reports from Numismatic News and paper money grading service PMG, the ..read more

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — If it feels like TikTok has been around forever, that's probably because it has, at least if you're measuring via internet time. What's now in question is whether it will be around much longer and, if so, in what form? Starting in 2017, when the Chinese social video app merged with its competitor Musical.ly, TikTok has grown from a niche teen app into a global trendsetter. While, of course, also emerging as a potential national security threat, according to U.S. officials. by Ashleigh Jackson, Ashley Bihun

(NEXSTAR) – “Forever chemicals” can be found in everyday items, from non-stick cookware to waterproof mascara to tap water. But concern has grown in recent years over their prevalence in the environment, as well as their potential health effects. These synthetic chemicals, also known as PFAS (or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances), have been used to make consumer products since about the 1950s. Companies like 3M, DuPont, Chemours and others manufactured PFAS because they were incredibly useful. They helped eggs slide across non-stick frying pans, ensured that firefighting foam suffo ..read more

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Birders are crowing over an extremely rare bird sighting in Oregon last week. Photographer and Vancouver resident Michael Sanchez told Nexstar's KOIN that he was at Hug Point State Recreation Site on April 21 at sunrise when he noticed a little bird near the shoreline. “I happened to look behind me toward the ocean and saw this cute little bird standing on the sand,” Sanchez said. “The sun wasn’t fully up yet, so to my eyes, it looked like a little black bird. It posed for me for a minute or two, and then it flew up to the rocks. It stayed there for another moment or so ..read more

How Trump's second term could be different from his first
WVNS 59News
by Rebecca Beitsch, Brett Samuels, The Hill

Former President Trump’s pursuit of a second term in the White House could lead to an administration stocked with loyalists who are laser-focused on implementing Trump’s agenda and are willing to cater to his whims. Critics, including some who have worked closely with Trump, have expressed concerns that a second Trump administration would have fewer officials willing to act as guardrails and would enable the former president to act more impulsively, in part because of his lame duck status.  “That is one of my biggest concerns about a second Trump administration, is there would be no guard ..read more
