With four games to go, the Cobblers are safe from any relegation fears and the attention now turns to solidifying a top half spot in League One. After last weekend’s superb win over Derby at Sixfields, we can now say we’re safe in League One for another season. If you’d told us that we’d be sitting here going into Easter weekend free from worry when things kicked off in August you wouldn’t have found many Cobblers fans who’d have believed you. When the Cobblers trudged off the pitch at Pride Park earlier this season having just been hammered 4-0, a tough League One lesson learned, there was a sense of realism hitting for a side who had punched above their weight for the most part of the season. It’s back to the road this weekend as the Cobblers head to Burton Albion for the first time with fans since that memorable FA Cup tie just before lockdown.
