The Paly boys water polo team crushed the Los Altos Eagles in a game on Thursday with a final score of 12-5.
“The energy from the players and the fans was electric,” senior Keiran Zajac said. “We played excellent defense and incorporated all that we had been working on during practice this week which is why we shut them down.”
Los Altos has been a top competitor of Paley’s water polo program, but as of this year, both the boys’ and girls’ teams have been able to take the win against them in league games.

The Paly boys have had an unprecedented season. They emerge as League Champions for the second year in a row, and qualified for the open division of CCS for the first time in many years.
Their league winning game against Harker was a nail-biter, and Paly won in overtime 11-10 with a goal from sophomore William Backstrand.

On Saturday, the Paly boys water polo teams defeated Harker 11-10 in overtime in SCVAL De Anza league finals.
“Honestly, it was really surreal,” senior Ivan Ijzerman said. “I’m really proud of how the boys played. Not just that game, but the whole season.”
This is the second league championship for this team in a row, and Coach Bob Greene (who began coaching at Paly in 2021) has won both of the championships since he arrived.

The Paly boys water polo team earned a decisive victory over Lynbrook today with a final score of 17-3.
“We played well with each other and controlled the ball well,” senior Julien Chow said.
This is the first year Lynbrook is playing in the De Anza water polo league. They were moved up from the El Camino league, switching with Mountain View.
“I think today’s game was a bit rough coming back from 12 games in 11 days with two tournaments,” Chow said. “We weren’t really in the mindset of being the best team out there. But we won the game and stuck together although half our team is out.”

Paly boys water polo beat Hillsdale yesterday evening with a final score of 21-12.
“Patience, hard work and strong communication are what makes Paly waterpolo Paly waterpolo and I think we executed on that today,” said assistant coach David Gormley.
One of the most important values for this team is maintaining a positive attitude all through each and every game.

Paly boys water polo won their game yesterday at home against Harker 10-5.
“I’m very proud about how we came together today, especially on the defensive end,” junior Brian Stewart said.
Last year, the Vikings’ rivalry with Harker was strong. They defeated Harker in the finals of the De Anza League tournament, earning the league champion title. Before that game, however, the Vikings had lost 3 times to the Harker Eagles, all in close games. Because of this rivalry, yesterday’s win was a great triumph for the Vikes.

The boys water polo season has officially come to an end, with an unfortunate defeat against cross-town rival Gunn. Nonetheless, their season was nothing short of spectacular, going from complete underdogs with a new coach to league champions
The team started off strong, racking up multiple wins in the beginning of the season, dominating against their opponents. After a couple of rough losses, they managed to cap off their regular season with a strong win against Mitty, sending them into the league and CCS playoffs.

The Boys water polo team take on the Homestead Mustangs and win 16-9, upholding their winning streak of 3 and 0 for league games.
“We’re feeling pretty good about our chances in leagues this year, and it’s obviously nice to have a streak going for our games,” junior Harrison Dike said.
The team was substituting players continuously throughout the game and did not let up on both defense and offense to ensure they got the win.

The boys water polo team is coming out of a league win last year, and look forward to coming in strong in their first game against Los Gatos on September 6.
In 2021, the boys won league championships and were the runners-up at CCS. This year, they hope to secure both titles.
Senior Will Rowell said, “we want to try and get back where we were last season. It was a bummer that we couldn’t get [the CCS win] last season, but I think that’s really motivated us to try and get back to that position.”
