While Georgia, France, Germany, Romania, Ukraine and Malta advanced as expected in the qualification tournaments of the men’s U17 European Water Polo Championship, Poland caused an upset by beating Slovakia with a brilliant 4-0 run in the last period and that sent them through.
Poland caused the biggest surprise this weekend: after losing all four matches two years ago, now they can prepare to play on the big stage as they could beat Slovakia, Great Britain and Latvia to advance from Group D, behind host Malta.

Zagreb, Croatia – March 14 – The Team USA Men wrapped up play at the 2023 World Aquatics World Cup qualifier earlier today, falling to Italy 16-10. Ben Hallock led Team USA with three goals, Tyler Abramson put home two scores, and Adrian Weinberg recorded ten saves. Team USA finished play in Croatia with a 3-2 record to take second place overall and joins Italy and Croatia in securing spots for the World Aquatics World Cup coming up this June in Los Angeles.

The Euro Cup Women trophy shall be lifted in the city of Budapest as Ferencvaros and UVSE reached the final. The semis produced the expected outcome though not in the expected way. Padova almost managed to upset Ferencvaros, which had won by three in Italy in the first leg. Still, once falling behind by three at home, the Hungarians prevailed by scoring the only goal of the fourth period to make their first-ever European final. Soon UVSE joined them after downing Eger with surprising ease and will go for their second title after 2017.

The all-Hungarian final is very much in the cards in the Euro Cup Women, perhaps the only question remaining open before the return matches of the semis is whether both legs will be played in Budapest.
Three Hungarian teams reached the semis and all three netted 12 goals in the first leg. [SINGAPORE] Some of Asia’s top water polo teams will converge in Singapore for the Asian Water Polo Championships from March 22-27.
Asian powerhouses Kazakhstan and China will join top Southeast Asian nations like Singapore and Thailand in the tournament that will serve as the qualifying event for the May 1-7 World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup, Division 2 Qualifier in Berlin.

Irvine, CA – March 6 – USA Water Polo Men’s National Team Head Coach Dejan Udovicic has announced the roster of 18 athletes selected for competition at the 2023 World Aquatics World Cup Qualifier set for March 8-14 in Zagreb, Croatia. Only 13 athletes will be eligible for each match and they will be determined prior to each game day.
