The Vicksburg landmark that is most famous for the brightly colored gorillas out front has changed ownership. Vicksburg Daily News - A Texas man has been arrested for the murder of an elderly couple in Meridian, Mississippi. Maurice Christie, of San Antonio, Texas, is charged with two counts of Capital Murder and three counts of Possession of Controlled Substances. 97-year-old Miles Herrington and 94-year-old Ina Herrington were killed in their home last week. Christie’s bond was denied on Tuesday and he faces the maximum sentence which is the death penalty if convicted.
