Awake In The Brain Chamber
The Secret Machines are back with a new record after an ungodly long hiatus. How’s this new album stack up?
Awake In The Brain Chamber [Space Rock, 2020] Review – The Secret Machines Return!
The Secret Machines
I fucking love this band. Always have, always will. I sense I got to watch them as they were coming up back in the day. I felt, in a distant and vicarious way, as if I knew them. That was probably the obsession talking. I’m not one to typically remember song titles or lyrics, ESPECIALLY member names but these 3 guys were really different from anything I’d eve ..read more

What Is A Static EPK?
Good question!
A Static EPK is – –
(Hint, it stands for Electronic Press Kit
A Static EPK Is A Press Page
A press page all its own which is attached directly to your website. It stands for Electronic Press Kit, by the way. But not exactly there in support of the website as a whole. It is there to represent and showcase your most recent release, project or endeavor.
Before treading too deep;
What’s A Press Page? Ah, yes. Rather important information. Let’s not put the cart before the horse! A press page.
It’s easiest to think of a Press page as being one and the same with ..read more

Spotify Falls Short
Spotify CEO and Owner, Daniel Ek, made an announcement Monday. An announcement he thought should warrant a pat on the back. While Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen announced they were co-headlining a podcast and stealing attention from Ek, the streaming service billionaire lauded a new functionality for Podcasters. This along with a few other pointless ‘enhancements’.
As we’ve come to anticipate from Ek in particular over other big services, he allowed Spotify to fall short. Nothing he announces is ever as dazzling as pitched to us. It’s all the same dry, redundant and gar ..read more

Music Royalties And Streamshare
Music Royalties – This past week music streaming service gargantuan, Spotify, released ‘Loud and Clear’. The aim of the website is to discuss how music royalties and Spotify work. How Spotify ultimately pays distribution companies these royalties. The idea then being that distribution will pay the musicians royalties they deserve.
What Are Music Royalties?
To avoid digging too deep into music industry terms again we’ll be brief. Music royalties can be summed up in one word; Payment. It’s not anywhere near that simple to go further on the topic, but now you at ..read more

Interview Dos With Four Apples
It’s super awesome to have Four Apples back on Chuck W. Dot Com to discuss, Anastasis. Interestingly enough, they will be releasing a full-fledged remix album simultaneously! It’s to be called Reminiscence and both are due out May 2nd, 2021. I had the pleasure of receiving some tracks in advance.
To not give a listen would be stupid, at best. Four Apples continues to grow musically, and it’s fascinating. What I find equally cool? Their ability to also get you thinking. Not even about music. There’s a hypnotic vibe about them. Let’s see if we can get to the bottom ..read more

A good musical ad is different than other types of ads. And in reference to this term ‘music ads’ we’re referring to music ads on youtube, music ads on Spotify, music ads on Instagram, and on.
For as different as music ads are we can still learn from tradition. Traditional advertising methods are being overlooked. I can get it. Stuff’s boring! That’s why I’ll make this quick and hopefully painless. When we’re done, you’ll be able to conceptualize, not a good music ad, but a great music ad.
I’ve noticed something lately! It’s not a good thing, or a bad thing. But there has been an uptick in ho ..read more

Interview With TwoCann
It’s quite the humorous coincidence that this interview with TwoCann is following hot on the heels of an interview with Netvio Founders, Only One Spoon and Atlas Castle. For one, it’s the reason TwoCann and I have the pleasure of meeting each others’ acquaintance. Another reason I chuckle to myself for really no reason at all, is because TwoCann is an overwhelming and over-flowing well of goofy, yet serious, positivity. My kinda guy!
He runs his own Instagram series on how to produce successfully, despite your own insecurities, ADHD and issues with confidence. And so, i ..read more

Interview With Chris Lody
A chat about the UK Musicians latest album, “Proper Ambient Music.”
Today we will have the pleasure of speaking of Mr. Chris Lody of Chrislody. I guarantee this is the Lody-est interview you’ll see all month. Actually, not his real name but facts be damned!
His new LP, Proper Ambient Music, is a fascinating dive into one man’s desire to explore. All this whilst remaining tethered to the mother ship. Chris has this amazing ability to swell or contain his sounds at his will. It shines bright on this album which is brimming with detail and nuance. Proper Ambient Music c ..read more

When I first saw The ,Clash poster above I took a screenshot.
I had eyed it up and, while it was awesome, there's no way I could afford it from the quite legitimate eBay seller it was coming from. The price being asked was high, but fair for the rarity.
The second thing I did after seeing that Clash poster was post that screenshot to the ,r/TheClash sub-reddit. I captioned the title of the post and wrote, "Hey, if you were wondering what to get me - it is my birthday soon." This much was true, but my memory of the Only Band That Matters was off-base.
Initially, I'd neglected the fact that the ..read more
