We’ve been enjoying the Easter holidays here at angelicscalliwags. I’m undecided about whether we head back to school next week or take the entire week off. The girls have so many social activities planned I’m not sure it will be worth going back for the small amount of spare time they have! Anyway, this is all we’ve been up to over the last week or so. Garden Centre Date with Gary Gary had £100 of garden centre vouchers which had been gifted to him for helping out various friends. He woke up on Saturday and decided that as we needed to take Abigail to her army cadets’ March in March fund rais ..read more

There’s a kind of Love that God only knows… “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.” John 3:16 Happy Easter Sunday The post Loved Beyond Measure appeared first on ..read more

I am so enjoying not being in February! The sun is shining, the mornings are light and my va va voom has returned! I’m not sure why February affects me so much, but it is like a wreaking ball through my life each year. It takes a swing, knocking me off kilter for approximately four weeks and then stops swingings allowing me to climb back up to a life that looks recognisably Claire’s. It’s been a good week, this week, starting with Mother’s Day and ending with me finishing a book I can’t wait to share with you all. Absolutely the bestest, most warmly written, heart rendering book you’ll even r ..read more

I’m late again in posting this. Apologies but between going away, Ads’ 21st birthday and studying for a masters, I just don’t seem to have much time on my hands. I need to improve my efficiency! Hopefully, the murder mystery photos will make up for it! Books Read I finished Oliver Sacks’ autobiography, On the Move: A Life, probably a couple of weeks ago now. I reread The Circadian Code by Dr Satchin Panda and Atomic Habits by James Clear. These were books I particularly enjoyed last year and were books on my reread list this year because the message in both had such an incredible effect on my ..read more

I missed last week’s rag because I was up to my elbows in Charlotte. However, things have somewhat improved since our impromptu visit to hospital. So…this week’s update is going to be a hodgepodge of the past two weeks, minus Charlotte’s ill health…because we do not need to dwell on that Becca Turned 13 My youngest became a teenager! A teen! Oh my goodness! Where did all the time go? To be honest, she’s been a teenager since she was about three and yet she still likes nothing more than snuggling up on my lap for a cuddle and comes into my office multiple times each day just to get a quick mum ..read more

Oh my days! What a week! Charlotte has been very unwell for the past couple of weeks. The difficulty with her is that we are never sure whether any pain she feels is chronic pain from her FND and Fibromyalgia or whether there is a specific reason for it – as in something is actually damaged. The FND means that the wiring in her brain is up the spout and gives her pain signals when there is no actual reason for the pain. That doesn’t make her pain any less real but it does mean that nothing is needed medically speaking. She really understands the nature of her disorder and rarely takes pain med ..read more

This is just a quick post this week. It’s half term and it’s manic around here with sleep overs, volunteering, cleaning… last night we had around 20 teens and young people in our home between Abs and Becs’ friends from church and Lillie, Charlotte and Ads friends. It was SO loud!! I focused much of last week on my small business. I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t fancy studying. I know me well enough to know that I will get much more done when I am doing the things I want to do rather than the things I feel I ought to do. Also, I love to study usually so I knew my enthusiasm would return fai ..read more

Hello! How are you all doing? I hope you’ve had a great week. Ours has been fairly quiet. We’re now in the dreaded February, which my youngest daughter informs me should be my favourite month given that she was born in it…but she turns thirteen this year and I find this very sad. She’s growing into an amazing young woman, who knows her own mind and freely states it to whoever will listen! In fact, much like she was as a baby…as a toddler…as a child…Hmmm, the teen years will be an interesting time, that’s for sure! I just can’t really believe my youngest is now out of childhood. How fast it goe ..read more

I’m late, I’m late, I’m very very late….! Darn it, this post was meant to be posted on Monday! Only problem was, I hadn’t finished writing it. So, here it is, three days late. This week has been all about my master’s essay. It’s due in on Wednesday and I’ve been trying to figure out what synthesising is. Apparently we have to synthesise two or more pieces of research in order to come up with an original thought. It’s a sort of weird thing to have to do with what is essentially a review of one piece of research. It’s only worth 12.5% of my final grade and I think I’ve done enough to pass, but h ..read more
