You know we love hosting tournaments. Countess Cup is always a great event, and this year was no different! Such an amazing weekend for a repeat! Congratulations to Giant Slayer – Kimmy Supnet for taking the Champion title 2 years in a row against an amazing field of throwers. Truly remarkable!
The marathon events before tournament weekend were great, and we are really happy to be able to provide this options for those who are able to arrive a little early. We appreciate the desire everyone has to get their name on our Champion Wall, and love giving this opportunity to those from out of town ..read more

Please check for your name on the roster. Please note, this is NOT for skills. Skills we are able to change on the fly. The main tournament is the important one that must be correct before we begin. Once the bracket is created and matches have started, there is no going back. Please also note that once the lanes are posted where you will be playing, you are not necessarily looking for your “nickname”, so please check carefully for real AND nickname!
If your name is missing, or you provided us an incorrect/old player ID that does not match what you are currently throwing under, PLEASE reach out ..read more

We are just providing some basic information on what to expect as far as food and drink goes for the weekend. We know this is always a question people from out of town or first time visitors.
Choppers typically does not have a bar, however for the tournament we WILL have a bar which is partnered with a local charity. This means there will be no BYOB. The following is not a complete list, but are some of the sponsors. We will have Tito’s Vodka, Fit Vine Wines, Yuengling, Double Nickle, Corona, Miller Lite, Cape May Brewery, White Claw and Twisted Tea!
While this may seem excessive, it has becom ..read more

I’ve sat down and started this blog post and edited it a few times. If you haven’t noticed, its almost a month after the Final Choptober that I am posting. You probably wont believe this, but about a week ago I was ready to make it live. However, I decided I would make it live on Thanksgiving Day instead. First, because of the spirit of being thankful. Second, because in my mind, maybe people are stepping away from the fast pace of life and relaxing with family and friends that day. If they are, they are going to need to get away from them for a few minutes (HAHA) and maybe releasing this will ..read more

There is a LOT coming up, so thought it would be good to put it all in one place. It’s not easy to find what we all internally know about what is coming up…. and I personally suck at letting people know. I had every intention of doing this prior to the last few marathons that went on, but I failed. Here is my attempt at getting it all out there now!
The Choptober Challenge – 2023 Edition
So we all know this is coming, but there is a lot going on. Let’s break it down by day.
Thursday
Starting on Thursday Oct 25th, we have (probably) one of the biggest IATF Marathon Leagues ever run simultaneous ..read more

First, thank God its over! Second, COME BACK!
What a weekend! The 2022 Choptober Challenge did not disappoint. Absolutely one for the record books and one Choppers can be proud to have hosted. This is the 5th year, but Covid-19 unfortunately won 2020. Not 2022 though, that went to Corben Decker. Congratulations! You’re in the movie!
Special Thank You
Before I get into a rant about my observations, I want to thank some very special people who are always by my side. Always looking out for the best interest of Choppers, as well as looking out for all of you. People who do things without asking wh ..read more

The 2022 Choptober Challenge will be taking place this year. Mark you calendars and save the dates! It will take place October 28 – 30th
As you are probably aware, the Choptober Challenge was the first to attempt and successfully host a 256 person axe throwing tournament. The event was able to draw this type of a crowd because it is an event not to be missed! We strive to be as inclusive as possible and foster an atmosphere of fun, that has an axe throwing tournament. Not an axe throwing tournament, that was fun.
Will you help make history, again?
More details will be released as things progre ..read more

What an amazing weekend of women’s axe throwing! The Countess Cup has FINALY taken place!
It’s hard to believe that it was the spring of 2019 when Choppers originally announced the very first, all women’s, major axe throwing tournament. Other women’s event have taken place at other venues since, which is awesome and we are so happy to see it. However, this one, the Countess Cup, was ours. Good or bad, we owned it.
It became something that kept me up at night. There was not anything we could have done to prevent the delays we faced from the Covid-19 shut down in 2020. The nasty emails, DM’s, pr ..read more

Eighty years ago, in 2020 we held one of the first team tournaments for our March Madness TPS! event. My idea at that time was to create teams players could form, but needed to fall in certain parameters to help handicap the teams to help make it more balanced and fair. I still defend the formula created then, but know it is far from ideal.
That TPS! turned out to be one of the all time favorites people always bring up. I know there is something to be said for having teams and it will progress the sport of axe throwing in a much needed way. So when Joey the Hat came to me with a different idea ..read more
