Rare Moog History The Bob Moog Foundation is excited to announce the recent addition of a rare Moog muSonics Minimoog Model D synthesizer to our collection. Donated on behalf of the late Philip A. DiTullio, the synthesizer is a physical representation of the transition from R.A. Moog Inc to muSonics in 1971. On the front of the instrument, the synthesizer has the muSonics logo, while the back mentions it was built in Trumansburg, New York, meaning this specific Minimoog was likely built by R.A. At the end of March, the Bob Moog Foundation hosted The Sounds of Innovation, the first in-person listen of the Abominatron Tape in its entirety, at the Moogseum. The sold-out event began with Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa reading an excerpt from Bob’s biography, Switched On: Bob Moog and the Synthesizer Revolution, which provided historical context regarding the iconic 84-minute tape. We are excited to announce the debut of the Vox Humana Sample Bank, a sample library that masterfully recreates the Vox Humana setting of a Polymoog 280A. The sample bank can be purchased through our online store. Carefully sampling every note of a Polymoog 280A set to its Vox Humana setting, musician, educator, and creator Alex Ball was able to recreate the famous patch as a downloadable sample bank. We are excited to announce that a rare vintage Minimoog synthesizer from the Bob Moog Foundation Archives has been chosen to represent Bob Moog’s indelible legacy in the Music America: 100 Iconic Objects From America’s Music History exhibit.   Bob Moog began building electronic hobbyist project with his father, George Conrad Moog, in the basement of their Flushing, New York home when he was only 10 years old.
