New model Orbea Gain is designed for on-road action and light gravel riding
Orbea has launched an update to its Gain carbon electric road bike. The new model gets a change of geometry with shorter chainstays and clearance for narrower tyres than its predecessor.
It also swaps from the Mahle ebikemotion X35 rear hub motor to the newer X20 for an 11.5kg claimed weight in the flagship spec.
Orbea says that the new Gain is designed to allow any user to enjoy cycling as never before, riding faster and further, regardless of their age and sex. The bike is designed to have r ..read more

Alistair McLean's story is a truly remarkable one. In association with Fatcreations, supported by Cannondale
Imagine having been a competitive cyclist since you were 16 years old, competing for Great Britain in downhill mountain biking, winning countless races across various other cycling disciplines, only to be told, aged 42, you have a serious heart condition.
What’s more, the only treatment is for a defibrillator to be permanently mounted in your chest and as such your heart rate can never again climb much above sedentary levels without a shock being automa ..read more

Inherits the pedal powered Addict RC’s ride qualities, with an extra push up the hills
4.0 / 5
£3,999
The Scott Addict eRide electric bike has a lot in common with the human-only powered Addict RC. That’s no bad thing as we really rated the Addict RC’s ride quality on rolling roads and climbs. With a motor to help out, surely that can only get better?
Like the Addict RC, the Addict eRide is nimble and light on its feet. The unassisted Addict RC we tested weighed 7.9kg with a mechanical groupset and the Addict eRide comes out at exactly 12kg with a c ..read more

Think all electric bikes are the same? Think again - we look at the best options out there, especially for those wanted to cycle to work
E-bikes are the future of cycling. The technical developments made in recent years mean that electric motors are becoming lighter, more efficient and less expensive.
Making them more available to the average punter, it's not that the e-bike will replace the normal bike - just that it will offer another solution to commuters, older riders and those less confident on the open roads.
There has never been a wider selection of models ..read more

‘Urban mobility no longer means as much road as possible for as many cars as possible,’ explains ..read more

The Roadmachine AMP features the world’s lightest drive unit and marks a new chapter for the Swiss brand
BMC today launches the Roadmachine AMP, the first electric road bike in the Swiss brand’s portfolio.
BMC says it carried over as much as possible from the original Roadmachine, so the AMP boasts the same geometry and same striking design, but with integrated e-assistance and what the brand says is the world’s most advanced drive unit.
In the past, e-bikes for BMC have been primarily MTB-focussed so venturing into the e-road space marks a new chapter for the brand.
