Hello I just got my hands on a 2013 coolpix dslr camera and was wondering if it would work with the elgato camlink and in terms of clearness and focus would it currently be better then the webcam I currently have ( Logitech Brio) I want to use it for streaming and recording and I was just curious if it would work and how well it would work. submitted by /u/Aggravating-Show-271 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Reviving an old Nikon D40 for a dull job

Hi all. Years ago I bought a D40x from eBay, at that point it was already out of date, haha. I think I paid $40 for the D40, a 70-200mm, a tripod, four batteries, charger, case, etc. Not a bad deal. Back then I bought it for photographing a large inventory of OEM NOS boat parts. It worked, but it was silly with the lens and having to be so far away. Note: I'm not at all knowledgable with camera's. Just enough to be dangerous. Lenses are a foreign language to me. Anyway long story short, I have a new project for inventory photography. This one is much bigger volume wise. I think the D40 is goi ..read more

Help with Nikon D850

Does anyone know what is causing the lines shooting across the frame while I'm filming? I'm using a Nikon D850 with a 50mm Nikon lens. I've adjusted the settings, lighting and nothing seems to be helping. Thanks! https://reddit.com/link/1chacvc/video/snue969r0qxc1/player submitted by /u/Ill-Cat4618 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

AF Illumination bleeds onto picture

I have a Nikon D5600. When shooting in dark scenes, there is often (not always) annoying red artifacting at the edge of images. I realized that the red AF Indicator light stays on for a tiny bit longer than it should appearing on the final image. To be clear, I'm not talking about the Focus assist light, but the red light seen in the viewfinder. Now, does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I also can't find an option to turn it off in the settings, am I blind? Thanks in advance submitted by /u/Glittering-Face5755 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I got this camera at a yard sale and it came with two lenses, I’m not sure which is better though. I would really appreciate anyone’s help in telling me which one they would suggest using submitted by /u/Visible-Priority-637 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

EOS1100d does brown tint on automatic mode. I replaced it with the same model I used for years. I use same standard 18-55 optics.

So my old EOS1100d broke or better said had nasty pieces of dirt on the mirror so I replaced it with the exact same model and used the same old standard optics which did fine for me. Now the new cam shoots darker photos and I have to adjust it on manual mode to get proper photos. The flash looks like someone might have replaced it with a cheap China model. Is this a possibility? Seems, the flash does not have as much power as the old one. Sadly I already trashed the old cam so I cannot compare. I use it for my daily work so I cannot adjust the mode with each photo. 2nd Solution: Any other Can ..read more

Camera suggestions - lifestyle/hiking/travel

Hey all, I currently use a Canon 6d with a sigma 24-105 zoom lens and a Leica M4. These two cameras weigh my backpack down a ton when I'm on long walks or hikes or on travel and hurts my back. So I'm looking for suggestions to replace my dslr with a newer semi-professional to professional grade camera setup (body/lens) that will be as light as possible but also can produce high quality shots with high megapixels. Preferably brands that allow for cheaper lenses and flexible options? Though fujifilm/sony have caught my eye recently. submitted by /u/perfectflicker [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What camera to buy with good AF for photographing my kid?

Hi there! Currently I have a Canon 700D, together with the 18-55 IS STM kit lens, the 10-18 IS STM ultrawide, and the EF 35mm f/2.0, that lives glued to the camera. I' ve been enjoying my Canon with the 35mm very much; however, sometimes it misses focus, and in the last shooting session it missed well above 50% of the shots taken in daylight, compared to almost none taken in low light, which is odd at the very least. That being said, I'm looking for a camera and lens combo that has a very reliable AF system (precise and fast)in all kinds of lighting situations, in order to keep up with my dau ..read more
