Hoping someone can help me out here. Is there a way to tag (not star rate) images in-camera? I am about to shoot an event where I need to match names of people to images and I want to avoid having to carry a notebook etc around with me to having to write down image numbers and corresponding names ..read more

Good evening, looking for some assistance, I have just purchased a new windows 11 laptop a Tether Tools cable and tried to tether my Canon 550D to it to get back into some studio photography. However, I was dissapointed to find that none of Canon's Eos utilities support my camera and Windows 11. I am looking for advice as to what free software there is out there that would work with my set up. For the occasional use I would use this for photographing my grandchildren I didn't want to have to... Canon 550D Tethering Software ..read more

Am I asking for trouble if I use a Canon zoom 200 - 400 mm EF lens on an EOS R50 body using the Canon RF to EF converter and a Canon 2X EF Teleconverter? I’m hoping for no issues. What’s your take? This will be for surfing photography on a good tripod. Thanks ..read more

Using AV

Hi everyone. I have been practicing with the AV mode on my EOS 80D. I had it set at F3.2. The ISO was 640, shutter speed was 1/500 for a sequence of shots, then went to 1/1600 and the pics were all clear. However the shutter speed suddenly jumps up to 1/8000 plunging those pics into darkness! Can anyone help with why that happened and how I avoid it in future? I was shooting runners, outside if that helps ..read more

Controlling Multiple Cameras with an iPad app or Macbook Pro

In my case, the camera of interest is a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, I'd buy or rent the other matching cameras. I'd like to be able to setup each camera, view live image and simultaneously fire all of them, ideally, from a single iOS based app or Macbook Pro if that was available. I know that Canon Camera Connect can make this happen on a single camera,... Controlling Multiple Cameras with an iPad app or Macbook Pro ..read more

Do EFS Lens work well on Mirrorless Cameras

Hi. Been reading up a lot, but cannot find a definitive answer. I am trading up my Canon 650D - mainly because I want the ability to transfer photos on occasion wirelessly to my phone or pc. I've read that you can buy adaptors for Mirrorless cameras to use EF lens, but do they work (more importantly work well) with EF-S lens? If not I'll stick with a newer DSLR Canon camera Thank you ..read more

Hi all, I currently have a Canon 6D, and want to upgrade to a 5D. The question is a mark 3 or do I go and spend the extra cash on a mark 4?? I have researched both online but can't decide! I want to also buy a wide angle lens for interior photography, if I go for the mark 3, I can afford a better lens, I'm really on the fence as to which camera to opt for. Any advice would be fantastic! Thank you ..read more

7D Mk2 or 80D

I’m pondering a an upgrade to my 550D, which I’ve had good use out of now for more than 10 years. I’m looking at used rather than new and don’t have the budget to change lenses as well, so staying with crop sensors. Both the 7 D Mk2 and the 80 D appeal, probably more the 7 for its better focusing and generally better build. I take mainly Landscapes, Wildlife, Railway and Motorsport subjects, all the above mean being outdoors often in dodgy weather. Given the above the 7D does seem a more... 7D Mk2 or 80D ..read more
