Today we say a huge thank you to Jason! Jason is one of our Rehomers, helping Bostons (and crosses) who find themselves in need of a new home. This role carries a lot of emotions. Speaking to the original family who, in most cases, are devastated to find themselves in a situation where they need to rehome their beloved dog. Then coordinating volunteers to have the dog assessed, finding a foster home, coordinating more volunteers to transport the dog, liaising with the foster home, vetting adoption applicants, arranging home checks and then transporting the dog to their new home…there is a lot ..read more

An Ode to Winston

Today’s forever home Friday is the lovely Winston. This poor boy arrived in a sorry state and needed a perfect retirement home to finally rest. He found that with our founder Beth. It’s been a tricky few months but Winston just celebrated his 13th birthday and appears to be loving life again. In his honour a few words for the older dogs: (source unknown) What do you do when your dog grows old? When his feet are tired and the pads are worn? When your words of praise are muffled in his ears, and his eyes are milky from their years of use? When his face is grizzled and his colour isn’t as vibrant ..read more

Elvis' Story -as told by Elvis, Jan. 2024.   Hi, my name is Elvis, 'm 7 1/2 years old & a mix of Boston Terrier & Jack Russell. As with many of us older or mix-bread dogs, I thought I may not find my forever home for a long while after I came to the rescue. I was very thin & full of fleas then but my foster mom & her family including my canine foster sister really helped me out. My foster mom got rid of those pesky fleas pronto & fed me some wonderful meals, so I gained weight. She helped me learn lots about the outside world. My canine foster sister helped me with soc ..read more

Todays Forever Home Story is another feel good one.  Zeus is a handsome chap with some fear issues but like his name sake the God of War he is soldiering on to conquer them. In the words of his mummy:- After my last Boston, I swore I’d never have another because I thought I’d constantly compare them. Fortunately, my partner (& best friend who sent me the post saying he had been waiting a while for a home) managed to win me over on this one and we are the proud owners of our gorgeous boy Zeus. As soon as I saw his photo I just knew!   We adopted him a little over 3 months ago and ..read more

Gibson - New Name, New Life

Time for a Forever Home Friday feature, our favourite feel good day showing how much joy our adopted pups bring. Today featuring this cutie in the words of his pawrents:   This is our new boy, Gibson. He wasn’t always Gibson; he wasn’t always our boy. But now he’s both of those things, and we couldn’t be happier.   Gibson was originally christened Diego. He wasn’t a Diego, at all. His original owners apparently decided to get rid of him after an incident when he didn’t want to share his dinner with a random child, and let his opinion be known perhaps a little too obviously.   He ..read more

Another lovely story of a UKBTR success story - Maddie hasn't been at her forever home long but has already changed lives in that short time. A heartwarming tale of a rescue pup mending a broken heart - perfect Forever Home Friday feeling. In the words of her Dad.     Maddie came into my life after I lost my rescue boxer Lyla through old age. I think I needed her as much as she needed me. I had been following Boston Terrier Rescue on social media for a few years. I had become fond of the breed after meeting one local to where I live, and also having been told they are like mini boxe ..read more

Zuki - Heaven and Earth

According to a Native American myth, dogs with different coloured eyes can see both Heaven (the blue eye) and earth (the brown eye) at the same time. So are considered spirit dogs and therefore very special to their families. Zuki is no exception to that myth. This little Boston girl is a perfect success story.   In the words of her mum –     We adopted Zuki at the end of March after losing both our Boston’s (Rocky and Frankie) at the beginning of the year within 2 weeks of each other. We were devastated as a family and about the same time Zuki popped up on FB rescue page. Like ..read more

Margots journey is a pretty special one. We all love a happy ever after and this girl showed despite the toughest starts she made it to a special forever home. Margot started life living in cage in Cyprus before coming to the UK Boston terrier Rescue. She had some ups and downs and a few health issues. Firstly, she was diagnosed with leishmaniasis then needed her cruciate ligament replaced. She is larger than average Boston Cross girl at 19kg which may have been an issue for adopters. She showed early on what a smasher she was. She was good with dogs, kids, loves everyone, fully housetrained a ..read more
