LAGAWE,Ifugao – Barangay officials and members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa (LP) in different barangays in Ifugao underwent orientation on the Barangay Justice System or Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) through the Office of the Vice Governor.

The Department of Agriculture-Cordillera is keen to conserving indigenous and traditional genetic resources in the region.
With the Corn Germplasm Utilization through Advanced Research Development (CGUARD) Project of the DA-Cordillera, 746 traditional corn samples have been collected from 2023 to 2024 in 57 barangays in the six municipalities in Benguet and Mountain Province.
The collected samples are cleaned for conservation at the Plant Genetic Resources Center (PGRC) of the DA-Cordillera located at the Baguio Animal Breeding and Research Center in Dontogan, Baguio City.

The municipal council of La Trinidad, Benguet passed on third and final reading an ordinance expropriating a part of private lands at the Pines Park bridge in Barangay Balili.
The ordinance empowers Mayor Romeo Salda on behalf of the municipality to acquire through direct purchase or exercise the power of eminent domain or pursue expropriation proceedings over the two parcels of land at Km. 4.
The affected lots are part of the road right-of-way of the Pines Park bridge, particularly at the bridge approach going to the national highway.

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The inter-agency “Kapehan Body” chaired by Gov. James S. Edduba has set April as Mental Health Awareness Month in Kalinga amid the uptrend of mental cases in the province.
The governor tasked the Provincial Health Office (PHO) with coming up with mental health awareness-raising activities throughout the month.
In the first quarter of 2024 alone, Kalinga logged five attempted suicide cases and six completed suicide cases. Of the total cases, 10 were in the 16 to 30 age bracket while the oldest was 50 years old.
