Alexander Padilla, 40 years old, Nevada, has been convicted in Sixth District Court, Kane County, Utah, of second-degree felony theft and criminal mischief. According to court records, police found that in 2022, Padilla participated in the theft of about 1,500 gallons of diesel from multiple gas stations in the Kane County area, with further charges in the Richfield area. Upon this conviction, Padilla has been ruled guilty of the charges, and is awaiting sentencing in the Kane County Jail. Kanab local Denise Riggs developed a goat milk soap-making hobby after she started raising goats. She quickly fell in love with the craft and decided to start a business to reduce the surplus. On April 20, 2024, an Iron County Sheriff’s Office Deputy initiated pursuit of a speeding vehicle moving toward Cedar Mountain and its resident communities. The pursuit picked up speed, at which point other agencies along the route were notified, including Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) among others, to prepare to intercept the suspect vehicle.
