Flawless Sheeting’s Lisa Ward Mortensen, Jeret Wear, and Chauncey Herring took to the stage during the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce (CCCC) April luncheon to give a presentation as one of the business spotlights. Mortensen explained that they moved into the building they currently occupy in 2020, with the chamber hosting a ribbon cutting. Dino baseball played a tough region opponent in Juab on Friday where the game went 10 innings. Both sides had some tough pitching with Carbon’s Maizen Prichard, who had 12 strikeouts in the game, as well as Peyton Molinar striking out six. Unfortunately, the team would fall to the Wasps in then tenth inning. They then faced the Union Cougars on Monday in a non-region game. The Carbon softball team traveled tom Manti to play the Templars on Friday. The game started off slow offensively, as Carbon would have the one-point lead at the end of the third. The top of the fourth is when the bats came alive, scoring five runs in the inning. Following in the fifth was a three-run inning, two more in the sixth and three runs in the seventh inning. The Richfield Wildcats visited Castle Dale on Friday for a region matchup where the Spartans team celebrated senior night. Emery was feeling good offensively, as they would put up six runs in the first two innings. Richfield was struggling against Wade Stilson, as he pitched all six innings, allowing only two hits. The Emery softball team hosted the Delta Rabbits on senior night for a region matchup. The Rabbits would strike first, with a run in the top of the first. Emery would answer back with two runs in the bottom of the first with two big solo shots from Brooklyn Ekker and Madi Bunnell. The game went scoreless for the next three innings, until the Lady Spartans had a big inning in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six runs.
