Does such a thing exist: extended mount so the plow sit farther forward (clarification inside post)

I have an F-450 with a heavy duty winch mounted to the front bumper. Removing and reinstalling it is a hassle, plus it could come in handy in slippery conditions, so I'd like to leave it attached. That being said, does something of an extended mount exist (for any brand plow, don't have one yet) that would leave enough room for the winch and allow a V-plow to operate normally? I looked around online before asking here but all I found were wing extensions to widen the blade. Thanks! submitted by /u/Giveaway_Guy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’m looking at a HTS 7’6 western on marketplace, and comes with the wiring harness and controller but is coming off of a Silverado. I’m assuming the harness is universal but just wanted to double check with the pros before i pull the trigger submitted by /u/habano1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I live in Maryland, when my parents moved from here down south my dad left his snow plow at my house. Figuring it would be easier to sell it somewhere it actually snows. Three years and hardly any snow…….i still have the plow. I don’t have the capability to hook it up and take it to a scrap yard. ETA: 2006 7.5 myers plow E-57H Mounted on 2500 Silverado Any tips on how to get rid of it ? submitted by /u/OkDonut1660 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good thing that we’re past contract date so it’s a fat hourly rate now. Only lost a chain and replaced a solenoid all season? submitted by /u/EasyChipmunk3702 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Crappy snow boss connector?
Reddit » Snowplow

Not sure if just bad luck or if this thing is cursed. The 13 pin connector is always a major pain to put on, the boot leaks a bit when it’s closed, it doesn’t have a positive feel to it, and at least one pin is loose. It was purchased factory new by my family and in my opinion has sucked from day 1. Five years in it’s still meh at best. Any tips or tricks? I’m tempted to cut both off and put a twist lock style on there as it seems to just be low current control lines as the power is a separate connection. submitted by /u/nitwitsavant [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Adjustment to rules in r/snowplow

I have added a new rule to our community. From now on, any post that discuss pricing after snowplow services are performed will be removed from this sub. (See Rule 6). I may extend this rule to include all discussions of pricing all together. Time will tell. Often these posts degrade quickly, offend people, and more importantly are posted by people that have no knowledge of snowplowing and are quick to complain. Furthermore, these posts tend to expose personal information of the original poster including location. This is a violation of rule 4. submitted by /u/mrplow1983 [visit reddit] [comm ..read more

Hey I’m looking at a new truck because the transmission went on my daily. New truck has a boss hook up and I currently have a western. How hard would it need to switch that over so I don’t have to buy a new plow? submitted by /u/irishbastard87 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
