Looking at picking up a replacement for the m mount Voigt 21/4 Skopar. The 23/1.4 Voigt for Fuji looks interesting. The Voigt site says that the lenses communicate all data back to the camera, including focus confirmation. So I guess you place the AF point on where you want focus, then manually focus by which ever means I choose such as peaking or split prism and the point turns green when focus is achieved ..read more

There seems to be a lot of hype about the latest Fujifilm cameras, the hype of course comes from Fujifilm themselves and a lot of people are getting sucked in to this. I do however like the filmic look of say the Xpro1 and the XE1, because of the early sensors. I have both and would not part with them at the moment. I pair them up with some vintage lenses. The first photo was with the XE1 paired up with a Helios 44-2 Zebra Belemo in the Belarus factory and the 2nd shot was taken with a... Read more ..read more

Helios 44-M with X-T30 help/settings questions

Hello all, I'm recently bought a Helios 44-M lens, used with a Fotasay M-42-FX adapter on my X-T30, and it seems like all the shots are somewhat zoomed in, no matter the distance from the subject. I'm new to using this lens, and even this camera, but, is this normal? I was 8-10 feet away from this gentleman, but it seems like I was right in his face. Is it just the nature of the lens ..read more

Any of you use Helios 44-2 or similar for portraits?

I would love to see examples. I have been tempted to get a FF for my vintage lenses to get a bunch of the character. If you have any examples of portraits in studio or outside with a variation of the Helios 44 I would love to see them. I would rather not go down the speedbooster path as the metabones is around $600 so I could get a Z6 for not more. So looking for just a simple M42 to FX adapter. big thank you ..read more

Aurora Borealis with GFX100s and Laowa 19 f2.8

Hi Recently I tried the first time to make photos from Northern lights in Norway/Lofoten. I used 2000 ASA, f2.8 and 2 seconds. As the Northern lights are moving around quite fast, a short time is essential. The infinity setting on the lens must be done in advance! I also have a 20-35mm Fuji lens but for low light I think the Laowa is more suitable. Soon I will try to make milkyway photos with the Laowa lens. What do you think about the result shown here? Kind regards, Hannes ..read more

I understand that it is possible to get an EF - FX focal reducer and then use adapters such as M42 - EF or M-mount - EF or Nikon F to EF. Does anyone do this? Any risk of damage? I have heard there is a huge range of quality and that Metabone's Ultras is probably the best. Any good YouTube you would recommend? Appreciate your input ..read more
