HI all,           I have recently purchased one of these lenses ( Fujinon XF 30 mm2.8 Macro Lens) and have been experimenting with various settings on my X-T4. As the aperture opening is decreased toward minimum, the photos display a distinct mottling which get increasingly worse per stop. Any ideas? Cheers, Davy ..read more

Hi all, I notice that there are some focusing sound on my XF33 despite it being said as completely silent in many review. The focusing sound is kind of like stepping motor sound, and it only appears when I’m shooting photo. I try shooting near and far away and there is sound. However, it is completely silence when I shoot videos. Is it normal or do I need to change some of my setting? Or am I just getting a not too good copy haha. please assist me with the matter guys! Alternate hood for Fuji XF35mm F14 R?

This lens is very nice! But I don't like the narrow metal hood. With my clumsy hands it's very difficult to mount and dismount the ordinary lens cap. I think they realized this is awkward and difficult, because they also provide a rubber cap that fits around the end of the metal hood; however this keeps falling off. Is there an alternate hood, more in the style of the other Fuji plastic hoods, that works acceptably? It'd have to not cause any vignetting, but it's not so important that it blocks all the extraneous light. I used to shoot without any hoods on my lenses, which I know isn't ideal b ..read more

Loose lens element in the 80 mm f/2.8 macro?

I purchased a gently used XF 80mm f/2.8 aspherical macro for my X-T5. Not being familiar with this lens but having had experience with the Leica T mount 60mm macro and Canon and Zeiss macros, I was surprised that I felt what might be best described as a loose lens element that shifted when I tilted the lens, even before being mounted to the camera. In manual focus mode, the lens is fine, but there is a distinct “wobble” when the lens is in autofocus mode. I reported this to the company (I bought it from KEH), and they agreed this was odd and accepted it back for a full refund. I just got a rep ..read more

XF 8-16 f2.8 Focus Ring 'Click'?

I just traded-in another Fuji zoom for an XF8-16 which was rated by MPB as 'Like New'.  The lens arrived promptly but was not super well packaged. The lens could move around in the included original box and the lens box itself was not super solid in the shipping box. This may mean nothing and there were no signs of damage to the outer box but . . . While doing some initial shooting with the lens, I found that the focus ring has a 'click' in it about 3x per full rotation.  This feels kind of like a haptic click like you might get from an iPhone but is not as hard a click as, say, the ..read more

Fuji 150-600 Focus Issues

Hello everyone, I recently purchased Fuji's new 150-600 zoom and while it is razor sharp at shorter focal lengths (150-300) it is often wildly out of focus at the 500-600 mark. I have tried everything including Fuji customer service to no avail. Based on a cursory search of online reviews it does not appear I am in this boat alone. Is this something Fuji can address via firmware update down the road or is this a likely an issue that is simply endemic to the lens? Thank you for your insight and perspective.  Sincerely, -Mark ..read more

Hi. I see the Fuji X lenses have a physical aperture ring. Is this mechanical or is it electronic? Can I use a Fuji X lens on another camera with a non-electronic adapter and still have control of the aperture though the ring ..read more

New X-T5 user - hankering after a 10-24

Hi folks, Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I switched from Canon full-frame fare a year or so ago, when an X100V stole my heart (and most of the contents of my wallet). I've since sold all of my Canon gear and have purchased an X-T5 with the 16-80 zoom.  I'm now on the hunt for something wider for the dramatic landscapes here on the west cost of Scotland, and I'm considering the 10-24 (WR version - for obvious reasons - Scotland). I've noted on Amazon.co.uk that there seem to be wildly different prices for the same lens (new), ranging from £775 this morning (now £800 this evening), t ..read more

Fuji 70-300mm, losing sharpness at 300mm; bad lens sample?

Hey everyone! I'm struggling with something and I was wondering if I could get some input.   It seems like I'm loosing sharpness at the 300mm end of my XF 70-300mm lens. I've gone out with it a few times since I bought it (last spring), and I've been pretty so-so on the results; I feel like my previous XC 50-230 was producing better results at the long end (unfortunately I didn't keep the lens to test it against).   I've been trying to take a lot of test photos, but here are two that demonstrate what I'm talking about. Both photos were taken at the same settings (ISO 3200, 1/13, f5.6 ..read more
