I bought this lens a few years ago from a reputable seller on these boards and It came with an issue I have never been able to rectify. There appears to be some kind of Waterhouse slot, for a filter or some such I don't know. When I mount the lens on my camera the image is incredibly fogged on the ground glass If I cover the slot with tape it fixes the problem but not entirely, it's hard to cover. If I replace a current Copal shutter with a new one .... will the lens elements be calibrated properly so long as I use the same shims? I see Ali Express now sells achromatic doublets for amateur telescope makers, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? They come with either a blue or a green coating for astronomy, which would be the best for shooting X-ray film, or should it be polished off before use? Hi everyone, I am looking information about fast lenses to shoot wide open or closer apertures (f5,6-11). Some months ago I watched a pictures made by a Spanish photographer called Joaquín Paredes (I recommend that you take a look, especially if you like ULF). Some of his pictures where took with a Aero Kodak, and I really liked the bokeh and DOF that lens made. But the problems with Aero Kodak are: no shutter in lens and hard to find for a decent price. Hello again helpful LFs, I'm sure only one or two recall my posts of a few months ago. I had to go through RT chemo, but I'm alive and back, albeit worse for wear and tear. I'm going through my gear again and want to use my Schneider K 300mm tele, in it's Acme Synchro #3. Poor shutter needs some love. I already did the swish and pray but the flash sync no work and the slow speeds are way off. I want to open it up. Hello, New here! I shoot a lot of digital macro work and recently bought a Sinar F that came with a Schneider 210mm lens. I have been doing some macro work with flowers and have had to extend the bellows about 12 inches to get the type of magnification I desire. I found some videos about the Nikkor AM ED 120mm Macro lens and then read that the coverage might not be enough for a 4x5 camera?
