Since we have been in Italy I discovered 4 wonderful Italian beauty rituals that are passed over by generations by Italian women. Today we will start off with … Olive Oil. Behind our house there is an orchard full of olive trees and in the fall families come together to pluck them together. There is something so magical about that scene and as I pluck an olive off a tree I think of all the energy that goes into making the delicious end product: Olive Oil. And next to the flavor it gives to all my Italian dishes these days, I have discovered that it does wonders for my skin! Packed with antioxi ..read more

What is success?
SAAR Blog

I’ve been thinking about success a lot lately. What is success? What does it mean to be successful? Do we all have different definitions of success? When I was younger, I wanted to do big things, be remembered, and do something important that leaves behind a legacy. Make others proud of me. That, in my eyes, was being successful. But my definition of success has changed over the years. So when did I start to change and why? If I don’t aspire to do something important, then what do I aspire to? Join me here, in Florence, Italy, for a chat about success in my latest YouTube video!

In a time when being healthy seems to be a real challenge and EVERYTHING seems to have something in it that's bad for you, are parabens in your food, drinks, supplements, make-up, skin or hair care really something to worry about? Struggling with your skin and can't figure out why? Maybe it's your facial product that's holding you back from your best skin! We  think oils are amazing skin food, better then a cream or lotion and we have the research to back it up! Here is why many dermatologists think Facial Oils are the  easy solution to reaching healthy, glowing skin fast: 1 Organic plant based oils are similar to the natural lipids found in our skin and and therefore can help repair and regulate your skin's moisture barrier, which is responsible for oil production. We met Letty when we were visiting Amsterdam and ran into this cute store called Anna & Nina, where they sold special items, jewelry, accessories, gifts etc. We like the organic approach and decided to ask the girl in the shop if they would be interested in selling our new product-line that we had just launched. Letty, friendly faced and very enthusiastic, made photo's of our samples and soon after our visit, Anna & Nina placed their first order. Letty had also told us about her plans to move to South Africa and open her own shop there.  Now, a few months later, she contacted us t ..read more

For the first time in my life I set foot on the United States California in September 2015. Seeing San Francisco coming closer from the plane is such a delightful sight. Surrounded by sparkling water it just seems like straight from a storybook. After being separated for 6 weeks we were so happy!  Everything I had heard and saw about California in the media still didn't prepare me for the astonishing beauty of this place. If you have been there, I'm sure you know what I mean. Who doesn't love the sunshine?! Here are some pics of our road trip from San Francisco to LA...and back. If ..read more

Amber: pain relief for children

Amber: pain relief for children Amber is millions+ of years old and it actually is not a stone, but fossilized resin from a pine tree. The first time I had seen it was on a necklace of my mom. She, being a great believer in the healing power of Amber, told me that it could take pain away. I loved that as a child and made me believe that nature has magical powers that nobody understands. When I became a mommy myself, I used the beautiful little necklaces for my children when teething. I loved the beautiful colors and soft feel, and the fact that they are ancient little things just is so am ..read more
