On February 1, 2024, the Huntington Beach Police Department responded to a report of a robbery targeting an ATM maintenance worker. Thursday, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Sabot Lane and Maddox Drive, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. An adult male victim was found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported to a local hospital. In speaking with the victim, he stated the suspect was not known to him. Early on Thursday morning, while on patrol, police officers spotted a stolen vehicle, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. When they attempted to pull it over, the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit. After a short chase, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
