On February 1, 2024, the Huntington Beach Police Department responded to a report of a robbery targeting an ATM maintenance worker. The perpetrators took a large amount of cash from the ATM and fled the area. Despite the suspects’ escape, HBPD detectives wasted no time launching a thorough investigation. Thursday, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Sabot Lane and Maddox Drive, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. Early on Thursday morning, while on patrol, police officers spotted a stolen vehicle, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. When they attempted to pull it over, the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit. After a short chase, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Last night, police officers located a stolen vehicle thanks to an innovative tool, a license plate reader camera, which alerted their department of the stolen vehicle in the area, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
