Hi All, Chris here. I've taken these pics of various stars / planets using my Nikon z7ii and 100-400 lens. I can see the far right one is Jupiter (and i think images 2 and 3 are the same, just emitting different colours on different days), but the others elude me. Its surprisingly difficult to find any matching images on google for comparison....I wondered if anyone knew any of these from their experience. I'm very new to this, just started this year ..read more

I have been on and off with astronomy / astrophotography since the 2000s and treated myself to a brand-new setup then low and behold the neighbour who does not speak all that much has built a roof over his drive and installs a lot of PIR LED lights which some are on constantly and some come on when activated by the cat or dogs in fact I do not think he has set them correctly as in sensitivity and light levels. After this, I packed my gear back into the boxes and gave up. Now I am wondering if I can find suggestions or workarounds to still allow me some imaging, I understand I may suffer somewh ..read more

Hello,  I have an Orion Spaceprobe 130st and a Sony A7RII. The adapter I have that fits inside the bare eyepiece doesn't get the camera sensor quite close enough to focus. Do I need a Barlow adapter as well?   Edit: I bought an Orion 08711 Shorty 1.25-Inch 2x Barlow Lens of Amazon. I'll report back whether it works ..read more

Hi All, Just returning to astro imaging after nearly a 2 year break. I lost my Astronomy Mojo and sold some of my gear. This time i'm trying a new path, which is using a small portable setup using a Skywatcher Star Adventurer GTI and a Fuji Mirrorless camera.   Whilst i know Mirrorless camera are not best suited to dso imaging, i was hoping to do some widefield work in the short term, but i'm struggling to find any suitable narrowband filter for my Fuji camera and i dont want to do to the extreme length of stepping down my 82mm diameter lenses to fit a 2" filter as the vignetting would be ..read more

Greeting fellow astrophotographers.   I have bought a Nikon D5300 with a kit lens (AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II) and a SW star adventurer.   I can easily get 2min subs but since I live under B9 skies my subs are 30-40sec max.   Let's get to the point cause I am driving crazy.... I havent been able to get a single good final image I always shoot lights, flats(white tshirt method and full brightness tablet), darks, bias or dark flats   Below you will see what I mean   https://imgur.com/a/IG0oD53   Has anyone any previous experience with this type of len ..read more
