The modern workforce is weird.
We don’t mean that in a negative way and we’re certainly not trying to tease anyone; it’s just that there’s kind of a contradictory, self-sabotaging mindset for many workers where they focus so much of their time and energy on landing a job, and then turn around and almost immediately start looking for reasons to quit.

The Covid-19 pandemic has been rough for most people, but small businesses have had a particularly difficult time. By the time employees’ productivity drops off and rumblings of their discontent reach their managers, it may be too late. With job-hopping more acceptable than ever and the abundance of options workers now have for remote, hybrid and contract positions, employers need to implement retention strategies at the onset of the hiring process—during recruiting and onboarding—in order to reduce costly turnover.

The way we work is changing right before our eyes. Many leaders assumed that as the threat of COVID-19 receded, we would get back to normal in short order. However, even as offices were re-opening, it was clear that many organizations could see the benefits of adopting a hybrid work model as the norm, rather than going back to 100% in-person work.
Chief among the benefits of hybrid work is that the vast majority of workers prefer it to working fully remotely or fully in-person. In 2021, 70% of workers stated that they “wanted flexible remote work options to continue” and 65% said they wa ..read more

Attracting and retaining women at all levels has become a priority for most companies everywhere. The challenge has grown in the wake of COVID-19, as women are taking the opportunity to re-write their relationships with employers and work.
Recent data suggests that women have been quitting more often than men since the pandemic began. One reason is the obvious stressors of caring for family during the pandemic. But bias in the workplace and a lack of flexibility have also been driving women to look for better opportunities or to quit working entirely. Unfortunately, these workplace imped ..read more
