Every game or sport (let’s not start that debate) has their own set of “unwritten rules”….Let’s take a look at the Cornhole Commandments!! Thou shall Embrace every partner you get no matter the skill level -One of the best things about cornhole is the community. Don’t be the asshole that ruins someone’s experience because you want to win $50 on a Wednesday night. Instead, play like you just got paired with Tony Smith or Mark Richards and have yourself a time! Thou shall not lay up on their last bag to wash a round -This hold especially true if it is a blind draw. Don’t play timid. No guts ..read more

If you’ve got big dreams getting rich playing cornhole, there are things you need to consider. Although there were a handful of people able to eke out a living throwing bags last season, you’ll see that cornhole is simply not a profession and there’s no such thing as a “professional cornhole player.” ACL Pro Jordan Power recently dropped a screenshot of the “2023 Money List.” The list is a summary of the earnings your favorite “professional cornhole players” made in 2023. You can see it here . Let’s define “professional cornhole player.” According to Google, a professional is “a person engaged ..read more

Here we are again, smack dab in the middle of the “lengthy” ACL offseason. A time where love is in the air, new partnerships are formed and players sign sponsorship contracts (or at least the top 10% or so). Every offseason we see a few “Big Names” changing partners, but if the 2023-2024 offseason tells us anything, it’s that steady partners are a thing of the past. Let’s look at some of the biggest moves to date… Mark Richards and Tony Smith -The 2022 and 2023 MVPs are teaming up and “team” Lucky bags is looking to make a statement. Mark Richards, coming off back-to-back seasons where he fin ..read more

What we are watching for in National #1

ACL National #1 is upon us! Yes we are very excited! This is going to be the "official" start to the pro season, and we have a lot of things we are going to be watching for in this first tournament. Let's break a few of them down. First thing first, Mark Richards.  This guy stepped onto the scene last year and dominated. Historically we haven't seen anybody repeat a season like that. A new bag sponsor this year, and a sophomore season, we will be watching to see if he gets nervous! Next up, the Women’s division. We have seen over and over Cheyenne Bubenheim dominate. So is anybody g ..read more

So What did we miss?

Well well well…here we are again. It’s nearly time for the first ACL National event of the 2023 season! And we are back! Unfortunately, it’s cornhole, and there was zero drama or storylines in the offseason…just kidding. We all know how much grown adults (mostly men) love them some drama. So let’s kick off another season of content with some thoughts on random storylines that have popped up since we last chatted…. Sophomore Slump? When we last left each other we saw a Notre Dame loving, PE teaching, awe shucks kinda guy, absolutely dominating the cornhole scene. Mark Richards had the most succ ..read more

Beyond the Odds

The DraftKings opening lines for the ACL Final Chase have been released. It has been interesting to track the first three nationals and see how the sportsbook has adjusted singles and doubles odds. In my opinion, from what we have seen so far the adjustments made have reflected name power more than the raw stats/standings. We will use Ryan Windsor vs Duncan Clemmer as an example. Windsor is currently 21st in pro singles and his odds starting from Kickoff Battle to the upcoming Final Chase have been (+550, +650, +1500, +1500). He has been a top 10 favorite at every national. Duncan Clemmer on t ..read more

Mark Richards: The King of Cornhole?

“Might be the #1 player in the world he still gets nervous,” were the words echoing across the room as Jordan Power’s arching throw slid in the hole to claim 5 pivotal points against the man who doesn’t miss, current #1 player in the world, Mark Richards. Elite shit talking and confidence, I don’t think anyone expected that in a cornhole broadcast but 100% put that cheeky banter in an IV and put that in my arm. 4-2 20-2. 20-13... 20-18. 20-24. Game. Set. Match. Big Dick Jordan Power and Air Rubin. That’s 24 unanswered points for Jordan Power and Jay “Air” Rubin (still the best nickname in ..read more

Would you swipe right?

For a while now there’s been a topic that most have shied away from talking about. Maybe it’s because it’s looked at as creepy or judgmental if a member of the opposite talks about the physical attributes of another or because it might be presented in a way that is superficial and shallow. Well, I’m here to tell you, while it’s completely uncomfortable… it’s super fun to ask people to pretend they’re in the early 2000’s when hot or not came about and ask who they would swipe right on.  I spent the better part of a week at ACL Worlds asking Pros and other players just where they stood in ..read more

As the game gets bigger and payouts get larger, naturally people are going to do every possible thing they can to gain an advantage. Remember when we could watch sports and people actually liked to be physical and just beat out their opponent? Well not anymore, now we have the actors and the not cornhole related floppers, looking at you Vlade Divac. But why do they do this? To gain an advantage, because the more you win the more money you make! Ok, we can talk mechanics and shot selections for hours and hours, but that's not everything when it comes to this game. Let's spend some time talking ..read more

Thoughts heading into 2022-2023 ACL season
Hard Drag Push Blog

The 2021-2022 ACL regular season has concluded. The world Championships, held in Rock Hill, SC was a content creator’s dream. It had big comebacks, dominant performances, Snookie sightings with a sprinkling of drama. *Chefs kiss* The Pro Shootout series and the Pro Invitational event are still to be concluded which offers qualified players a nice pay day opportunity. Here are some thoughts and things to think about as we head into the “off season”…. Can Mark Richards repeat? If you’re a fan of professional cornhole (if you’re reading this and you’re not then run while you can), chances are you ..read more
