SAT for BS/MD & Brown PLME

Hi! I have a question about SAT scores for BS/MD programs and for other colleges. If I have a 1500 SAT superscored, would that be enough to be considered for programs like Brown PLME? Would extracurriculars and GPA make up for the SAT score? I took AP World History and AP Physics 1 last year and am taking AP Literature, AP Calc AB, AP Biology, and AP Computer science Principles right now (4.0 UW). And for colleges that accept superscores - do they check to see each individual score when considering students for admission? Or do they only judge off the superscore? Thank you! 4 posts - 3 partici ..read more

Hello All, Currently a college sophomore and applied to UF MHP for fall 2024. First interview was in late Feb and second interview was last week. Both interviews went well. I am a parent and my english is not that good so my apologies in advance for any spelling/grammer mistakes. Any idea what happens next? When/How(phone call or email) they will let us know? I found it strange that UF already asked us to apply for a transfer 3 weeks before second interview and submit all official transcripts. We are from out of state so if anyone knows how the tuition would be at UF - would they offer any sch ..read more

Hofstra 4+4 BSMD vs Sophie Davis

Hofstra 4+4 BSMD vs Sophie Davis BSMD I’m deciding between these two BSMD programs. I am torn! Hofstra bsmd has a great medical school but they have a MCAT requirement of 511 first try and the undergrad will cost me 40k/yr. Sophie Davis is 7-yr, no MCAT, and no need to dorm as well as 6k/yr. But Sophie Davis doesn’t have the best match rate especially for something outside of primary care. Sophie Davis medical school is also not that well known and very new. 3 posts - 3 participants Read full thread ..read more

Does attending undergrad freshman year at one uni and transferring look bad for med school applications?

I would love any insight if someone has for our situation. S24 was accepted to Boston University as a guaranteed transfer for Fall 2025. So for his freshman year he will attend another college for two semesters and then can join BU in the fall of his sophomore year. He is pre-med and his only hesitation is if it looks bad for med school that he didn’t attend BU all 4 years. 28 posts - 9 participants Read full thread ..read more

Hello all, Have greatly benefited from reading all the content on here. Here is a question as I am preparing to pick a college, after having gone through a hard-working school year and cycle with only pre-med acceptances and not any BS/MDs. As a high school senior had a reasonable GPA, excellent SAT, a lot of research(no publishing), reasonable volunteering, shadowing, etc. From your experience can you please suggest which of the colleges offer better for aspiring physician preferably with no gap years? In terms of the factors to look for here are the one I am weighing on but please suggest an ..read more
