Thank you for reading.
Maybe I haven't thought about it hard enough, but I feel I haven't faced too much adversity in my life. I'm very grateful for this except for now, having to answer the adversity/resilience question.
I'm considering writing about transferring twice, once mid pandemic, and how I had to adapt to three different schools and start from scratch learning each system/location and meeting new people. It'd also explain why I'm submitting transcripts from four schools I...

So I have a good dilemma: I have like 20 meaningful things with meaningful amounts of hours to put into my Activities section.
Some of these things are similar or at least have some connecting thread, i.e. summer camp for kids with epilepsy / summer camp for LGBT+ kids, volunteering at several hospitals but in different roles/depts, several somewhat related jobs within separate industries or sub-disciplines, multiple disparate hobbies, etc.
Should I:
- pick the "best" one of the like...

Hi everyone,
I went to a health magnet high school where you attend clinical rotations in different hospital departments for a year. I consider this to be a significant experience and was wondering if it would be okay to list it or just write about it in my personal statement. Thanks ..read more

OK I am in a BSMD program, whose med school has not much match rates in Neurosurgery. As a high schooler, I thought getting into BSMD was good enough and didn’t worry too much. Now that I am trying to make the journey, Iam split. Should I leave the BSMD program and try for better Med School wasting 1 year trying yo get a good MCAT and focus on extracurriculars or to continue in the same school. If I continue, how do I improve my match rates into this very competitive field from a college...

For context, I am a nontrad, currently working a tech career for about 2 years now and considering joining a post-bacc next year. Grew up my entire life in Texas, went to high school in Texas, and my parents still live and own a home in Texas. I still really like Texas but life/work just brought me elsewhere. However, I went to undergrad outside of Texas, worked in NY for a year, and just moved to California this past January 1st. As of now, within a medical school admissions context, I...

GPA is 3.73 and BPCM is 3.53 with clear upward curve. I was sick my first three semesters of school. Was later dx with chronic illness. I got decent grades B+ but didn't participate in many activities, it was difficult enough just to get good grades and my school just didn't offer much other than sports or Greek life. I just started meds literally when we were sent home for Covid. Went back to campus a year and a half later as a senior and was told that profs weren't looking for seniors for...

I am taking the MACT on Friday (any other 3/24s out there?). Just now realized I completely forgot to read up on CASPER and Preview and figure out what to do about those. I am planning on applying this May, when should I take those? Are they exams you should study for like the MCAT, and are these exams you can take at home or do you go to a testing center? I don't have any time to research them right now, cramming before the MCAT, but if anyone could drop a quick crash course on these I...

Title. Although this site has countless posts, and this question has likely been asked numerous times, I wondered what current third and fourth-year undergrads would tell their first and second-year selves.
I'm finishing up my first year of undergrad with a mediocre GPA (3.7/4.0-I know, gotta get that up ASAP), and so far I don't really have any regrets in terms of stuff I could have done differently versus high school where I screwed up my academics big time. I'm volunteering at my...

Apologies in advance if this is a silly question, but I just want to confirm as I just read this in another thread.
Many schools say they prefer/recommend (I guess "require") Committee Letters. My school does not offer Committee Letters, but instead provides "letter packets", where they compile your LORs and add a cover letter which explains our school's curriculum, grading, "we support this student" etc.
Will I be disadvantaged for not providing a Committee Letter? I suspect the answer...
