Live Music season is upon us!  Not only is Stampede around the corner, but I’ve been booking some cool outdoor shows  – not just in Calgary, but surrounding communities.  Then I’m heading up to Whitehorse and Dawson City to see what kind of fun I can stir up.  The thing about summer shows is that it’s just so awesome to be playing on a warm summer night, on an outdoor stage, just soaking it up.  I might even throw in a few outdoor jams if anybody wants to do one with me – just ask! Whether you’re in Calgary or the surrounding area – yes, I’m happy to perform Christmas music for your special event.  I can also include a little comedy, and fun audience participation. I actually love the holiday season, and brushing up all these great old tunes.   Ever been to a house concert, i.e. where a professional musician plays acoustically right in someone’s living room?  Recently I had the pleasure of playing for some friends at their home in Calgary;  they’d put on an amazing meal, and I thought it would be fun to get out the guitar and jam.  It was just amazingly fun.  Some songs my friends even sang with,  or played along with – as my friend’s husband also played bass!   It was a blast – and it reminded me of how fun playing in a circle around the living room or backyard is.  So I guess that make ..read more

This spring, I took a 7-week course in how to do Stand-up Comedy.  I learned a ton about writing comedy, and performed in comedy competition for their various students, held at the Dog & Duck on April 21.
