Help keep those pesky weeds under control by picking them early. Garden maintenance is important for a successful harvest. Weeds compete with your plants for sunlight, moisture and space. The easiest way to control weeds is to start early and weed throughout the summer.
Do one very good weeding in the spring after your plants have germinated you will give your veggies a head start over the weeds. Weeds hinder the plants you want to grow.

We are having a community garden barbeque on Augusty 26, 2023 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm at the garden.
Hotdogs (all beef), buns and drinks will be supplied.
You can bring a potluck salad or dessert to share if you would like.
Bring your lawn chair, plate and cutlery and join us for this gathering.

Reminder: Your Grow Regina garden needs to be cleaned up by October 10th (Thanksgiving day)
Structures are to be removed unless previous approval has been received to leave them in the garden.
All above ground vegetation must be removed from the plots.
Perennial plants are to be cut down to ground level.
All other materials must be removed from the garden.
Straw is not allowed.
If you put in wood chips you should remove them.
Following the final inspection of the gardens this year, emails will be sent to any members who have become a concern for the Inspections Committee.

The 2022 recipient of the John Fagan Award is Yvette Crane. Yvette was a long time gardener and Grow Regina Board member who served selflessly in different capacities over the years including a term as Chair. Her efficiency and hard work were a benefit to each and every one of us at Grow Regina. Yvette was an absolute pleasure to serve with and became a great friend over the years.

The Inspection Committee will be out on June 27th to check gardens and pathways. Please keep your half of the crusher dust paths adjacent to your plots clean of weeds.
