I dated my ex for 5 years and within that time we got a car together. Fast forward, we aren’t together anymore but tied to this car. I can’t refinance rn, let alone I dont even know how to. I’m behind 2 months on my car payment and I can’t even get the extension because he wont respond to me to sign the paper work. What do I do? What can I do? I’m gonna call the bank I have the loan through to see if there are any other options but I’m not sure what to do and they already reported my lateness to the bureau.

I started building my credit in late 2017 when I was 20. My mom had opened a credit card in my name and had been using it for herself. She did this for my benefit and it got my credit to around a 700 at age 18. I also had taken a 1000 dollar personal loan and had her co-sign on another 4500 dollar personal loan. The personal loans got paid and in 2017 I wanted my first credit card but was declined because of the card my mom had in my name having a decent size balance. So I had the credit card essentially deleted from my credit history (because it was not ..read more

If I pay my current balance every month while always keeping a zero balance bad for my credit? Each month it shows that I have zero statement balance but with a running current balance. I pay my current balance in full each month (I know I don’t need to). Will I still build payment history if I’m always reporting a zero balance? I keep a $30 balance on one of my cards. Should I keep some of my current balance so that it posts on my statement?

I’ve had this card since the early 2000s, which started as a bank card, and changed hands a few times before becoming a Capital One Platinum card several years ago. It has a 5k limit which I’ve run up and paid off several times. I’m due to pay it off again fairly soon, and wonder if I should just close it out? The card has a fee, a 34.24% APR, and no frills. So it’s a terrible card, but I mostly would use it as a backup and got lazy about changing it. But Almost a year ago, I got a Capital One Quicksilver card with a 6k limit I’m paying down, so I would like to focus on just one card. It’s no ..read more

Hey yall, so, I (M22) am currently flipping out been flipping out for the past 2 months. I took out a couple loans thinking my high paying job would be able to fix these issues. Well here I am. I have 7 open loans that I am making payments on. These loans at first were no big issue, I made regular higher payments. But then I went to Colorado, borrowed some because I can’t dig into my savings I’ve put, until March (put it into my companies savings not knowing I wouldn’t be able to access it until my next profit share) and then I have a lot in another account I can’t touch until I’m 25. I borro ..read more

I have an unpaid charge off and for the past 18 months my score goes down each month because of that account. Usually 20 points per month on my fico.
Is this normal behavior if you have an unpaid charge off?

It’s currently around 500-515.
Many inquiries because I was desperate for a loan.
I don’t have much extra, money wise, a month.
And by not much I mean- maybe $200.
I live within my means. I’m a single parent. So there is no “find extra money”
I had to let my 2 credit cards go that I had with capital one.
My hope is to get a secured credit card, and use it to pay on like small debts. Then pay it off.
I have a high van payment. 21% interest rate - and I cannot get out from under it because of my credit.
Lots of collections.
Some student debt.
Bad payment history.
No I can’t file bankruptcy.
No ..read more
