Jerusalem Artichoke Soup
60 gm butter
500 gm Jerusalem artichokes, scrubbed and cut into even chunks
1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, lightly crushed
1 stick celery, finely sliced
1 potato or sweet potato, diced
1 litre chicken stock
salt and pepper
freshly snipped chives
freshly grated nutmeg
thick cream (optional)
Melt butter in a heavy based saucepan and sweat vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Add liquid and simmer until the artichokes are tender.

This homemade green goddess dressing recipe is so easy to make! It’s creamy, fresh, completely delicious—and a great way to use up your leafy herbs. Recipe yields about 1 ¼ cups dressing; multiply if desired.
ingredients
1 cup plain Greek yogurt, preferably full-fat (made with whole milk)

Happy 11th Birthday to us!
In 2011 an enthusiastic group of locals started campaigning for a community garden, which was approved by Leichhardt Municipal Council, and the Mort Bay Community Garden Association was born. Council awarded the association a license to use the land in 2012.
Finally, after COVID disrupted our plans to celebrate our first decade, we’re throwing an 11th Birthday party instead! Saturday 21st October 9-2pm Join us in the garden to help celebrate with special guests. Share a piece of carrot cake and raise a glass (non alc) to toast our success!

1 puff pastry
300 g Tuscan kale
2 onion
2 garlic
150 g bulghur
200 ml chicken stock
2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tsp nigella seeds
Pepper
Salt
Dried chili
Remove hard stalks from Tuscan kale and roughly chop. Dice onion and garlic.
Cook bulghur in chicken stock, drain and let cool.
Fry onions in olive oil until translucent, add garlic and fry for 1 more minute. Add Tuscan kale and let wilt. Season with salt, pepper and chili. Mix with the bulghur.
Preheat oven to 220 C.
