The garden looks really good, the outcome of much care and attention. In some ways the pervasive influence of Covid 19 was beneficial as many gardeners found they could be outside doing something useful yet maintain social distancing. Membership is good and there are a number of enthusiastic new gardeners. We look forward to good attendances at working bees and Compost Club and a generous contribution to many everyday Garden tasks. Children’s Day 2023

We’re giving ourselves lots of time to prepare for this as there’s so much to consider and organise. We always need lots of assistance on the day and if you can contribute (friends and family also welcome), it will hugely help the whole event to flow smoothly. September 2023 is proposed as the Garden looks good at that time of the year and the weather is warming up. How can you help? Let us know if you’re prepared to do any of the following: Distribute promotional flyers by emailing to friends and family or by printing some and giving to neighbours. Unless  a major event is planned, the Garden Calendar alternates between compost building and working bees. Members come along to Compost Club (usually held in the late afternoon) for an hour of building up compost bays then stop for a beer (or preferred drink) and stay for a chat with other enthusiastic gardeners. Having regular compost club meetings helps enormously to maintain ample supplies of one of our most valuable resources – beautiful compost.
