For those who frequent these pages to learn more about watches, we bring you an article that is both a product review and a window into a field you would most certainly adore.
We will explore the world of mechanical keyboards and how one company, Apos, is taking on the industry’s biggest challenges with its historic WhiteFox Eclipse. I have put together a quick primer for those unfamiliar with mechanical keyboards here (another is available on Reddit here), and I advise you to keep it open in a separate window for reference as you read along.
This article consists of interviews with people who ..read more

The Concept of Keys
The term “keys” covers the keycap and the switch mechanism that it houses. Keyboards that allow for tool-less modifications are known to be hot-swappable. Different keycap materials offer different sounds, fee ..read more

Today, we have a new offering from the Austin-based brand Jack Mason. The new Ellum expands its offerings into uncharted territories. Jack Mason has been undergoing a brand overhaul kicking off with their GMT line in 2023; check our coverage here. After multiple successful restocks and a diver, they have announced a 9mm thick manual wind dress watch at $949 equipped with the Sellita SW200. The Ellum is a revamp of a previous release; however, the name is about the only element that remains the same across the two watches. The Ellum is defined by its linen dial and warm vintage aesthetic. We ha ..read more

Memories of seeing Cheryl Miller play on television came storming back last season as I watched the New York Liberty take on the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA Finals. It was a hard-fought and entertaining series in which the Aces managed to repeat as champions. I was rooting for the Aces because my favorite player is their point guard, Sydney Colson. But in game four of the series, Liberty’s point guard and her clutch three-pointer, which had six and a half minutes to go, had me leaping off my couch.
That point guard’s name is Sabrina Ionescu, and she is Tissot’s newest ambassador. Embodying all ..read more

“Hold my beer.”
This seems to be the phrase used by the entire Nodus team after each successful release. The Sector Deep is a unique watch for one good reason: it embodies what makes the humans behind the brand exceptional. While other watch brands exist to make a profit and play it safe, the founders of Nodus continuously push limits whenever and wherever they can.
When it comes to the industry and wanting to see certain changes, they implement the necessary changes instead of complaining.
Are existing watch trade shows a little cumbersome for brands? Create your own trade show, Intersect, w ..read more

Note: Earlier this year, one of my favorite humans on the planet, Frank Affronti, wrote an excellent review of the Nodus Sector Deep, and I encourage you to read it here before you start with this long-term review.
A Retrospective Look at the Sector Deep
It is no secret that the Nodus Sector Deep was a reaction to some of the most laughable tendencies of the watch industry and that of its customers. Like many other consumer goods fields, most products being offered must appease some sort of aspiration. Whether through brand recognition or a lifestyle, companies will compete for your hard-earne ..read more

When Seiko started shifting upmarket a few years ago, it left a hole in the affordable tool watch segment. Brands like Citizen and Orient can fill it to an extent, but most of their designs aren’t targeted toward watch enthusiasts in the same way Seiko did. Vaer has come along to fill the void of affordable watches with watches that die-hard enthusiasts will find attractive. We’ve covered a few of their watches before, so I thought we would review them differently today.
Today, we have the D5, a Pepsi-bezel dive watch with some funky design elements and everything that makes Vaer’s dive ..read more
