Like it or not, Valentine's Day is right around the corner. This special day is not just for romantic partners but also to let platonic pals know that you love them too. One thing I love to do for Valentine's Day is to bake. It's such a low cost way to show your love. If you are on a budget or want to do something meaningful, I highly suggest baking some delicious treats. My favourite thing is to bring baked goods into work on VDAY, believe me everyone loves it. Date Idea - BINGO
Peace Love Jenny

I've always romanticized going to bingo for a date, this was probably etched into my child brain from the movie My Girl. You know, that scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd? That movie was iconic in so many ways. *excuse me while I shed a tear for Thomas aka Macaulay Culkin* Now, if you've ever been to a Bingo Hall, you will soon realize there is absolutely nothing romantic about it. However, it is the funnest place to have a date. We basically spent the entire night laughing, which to me, is the best. I would also highly recommend going with your mum for a fun mother-daughter date or ..read more

5 Wellness Essentials to Get You Through The Week
Peace Love Jenny

Fall is here, friends! It's officially 'Basic Bitch' season with pumpkin spice everything, cozy knit sweaters and cool crisp air. Sometimes though, the abrupt change in weather can also be the start of cold and flu season. BUT, with a few preventative measures, including these 5 wellness essentials, you will be sure to make it through the week! #1. Staying Hydrated. This seems like a no brainer but it can be challenging to get a healthy amount of water when it starts to get colder outside. People tend to go for warmer beverages, like tea and coffee and forget to drink good ol' fashioned water ..read more

Are You Living or Just Existing?
Peace Love Jenny
by Jennifer Needham

Here’s my question to you. Are you TRULY living? Why am I asking this question? Simple. I want you to be alive, instead of just merely existing. In 2019, most of us have everything we need (and more) yet as a society we are more unhappy than ever.... but why? The average lifespan these days is 84. Of those 84 years, we spend around 25 years sleeping. This leaves us about 59 years left. You, me and just about everyone else on this planet has responsibilities. By responsibilities, I mean, most of us have to work or go to school, neither of which really grant us the freedom to do exactly what we ..read more

Why I Left My Corporate Job to Pursue My Dream of Starting My Own Business
Peace Love Jenny

Who hasn't fantasized about leaving the corporate world to pursue a dream of their own? We all think about it but not many people actually follow through with it. I can't blame them, it takes a lot of courage to leave the comforts of salary, benefits, RRSP matching and daily structure for something completely unknown. Actually, it's absolutely terrifying and that fear is what holds most people back. After working at various corporations, my latest stint was at a tech start up, where I worked for 5 years. I must admit, I had it pretty damn good. I loved the people I worked with, the work perks ..read more

1970s Home Makeover - Half Bath Edition
Peace Love Jenny
by Jennifer Needham

We moved into our 1970's back split In the beautiful Niagara Region 10 months ago and have been non stop renovating. We've done all of the renovations ourselves, which is pretty wild considering neither of us are particularly handy. We started with our half bath, before moving onto the larger bathroom. This is what it looked like before: It was wallpapered from floor to ceiling, had grey marble toilet/sink and had nasty stained pink shag carpet. I felt dirty just looking at it. Clearly, this needed a complete overhaul. It was a very tight space so we felt a bit limited with how much we could ..read more

Fall Fashion Ideas 2021
Peace Love Jenny

Trends come and go, that's for sure. Although I will indulge in a trend or two, I prefer to maintain a wardrobe with certain pieces that will last forever. This year is a true combination of trendy and forever pieces. From cozy knits to kilts, these are my fav looks for fall 2021. Cozy Matching Knits This matching set is from Winners and cost about $70 for both pieces. I dressed it up a bit (and covered up a bad hair day) using a silk hair turban. What's great is that they make the perfect outfit when paired together but also, can be worn independently too! Kilts I picked up this vintage kilt ..read more

2020 Niagara Region's Top 5 Wineries
Peace Love Jenny

Living in wine country certainly has its up side. Obviously, my favourite perk is getting to visit ALL of the amazing wineries in the region regularly. With literally dozens to choose from, obviously picking my top 5 is difficult but someone's gotta do the hard work, right?! haha. I decided to choose my TOP 5 wineries based on the following criteria: The Vibe - This means scenery, set up and all around customer experience. The Wine - This is obviously very important when choosing a top winery. Keep in mind, I tend to go for white's, that is my personal preference. My favs in order are Riesling ..read more
