April Blog What a way to start the month; meeting my sponsors from Jeremy Rudge Saddlery. It was fantastic to meet Amy in person and I am very excited to say that I am trying out a new saddle for them. The Free Motion Panel: it is self-levelling and adjusts with the horses back with every step; no wonder its incredible and the horses love it. Bear and Damo loved it from the first time it arrived on their backs. I have done a weekly diary; check out my Facebook page to find out exactly how me and the horses have got on in this amazing saddle. All the horses have been going well in training and ..read more

Apologies for my February and March blogs being so late here’s hoping that the April one will come out on time! February The boys have been going really well in training. Bear has come on leaps and bounds and we are starting to ride test movements at home. Damo is being really good and again we have been riding lots of test movements in preparation for our return to the white boards. My body has been really struggling recently; the fatigue has been high. So, I have spent less time in the gym and more time with the horses which I have really enjoyed. I have had another fantastic session with Fi ..read more

I hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. I spent mine in America with my sister and niece and we had a wonderful time. Whilst I was away I did my weights and sessions on the hand bike but on my return home it was great to get back in the swimming pool, on the rowing machine and then in the gym-my fantastic local gym Chiltern Lifestyles centre; supported through the wonderful Sporting Champions scheme. What a way to start the year smashing out 3 sets of 8 pull ups at my first session with Fiona at Performance Hertfordshire. I then had a good session with Tom at Body Balance; i ..read more

Sorry it’s late everyone; the time has flown, and I forgot I hadn’t yet written let alone posted the September blog! It’s been a busy month; read to the end to find out some very exciting news!! We headed off to Bury Farm as we needed more point to qualifying for the Winter Para Dressage Championships. It was a very early start, but Damo was a superstar, and we easily got the one point we needed and more. We went for a bigger walk, a few things to iron out before the Nationals but two plus 70% scores. Boat training has been going well; I’ve managed another 2k on the water, not the best time a ..read more

What a month it’s been; it has been great to watch the World Para Dressage Championships, cheering on team GBR and team Ireland. It was wonderful to see my friend Michael Murphy win two bronze medals; we grew up together and I am just so pleased for him and his team. I also enjoyed watching the Rowing Europeans and seeing the Para rowers smash it! On top of all the TV watching I have been busy on the horses and in the boat. After taking it easy for a bit due to my misbehaving lungs it’s been fantastic to be back in the gym again and back on the rowing machine. A pallet of Sorbeo Horse Bedding ..read more

You can now book me as a public speaker (motivational/inspirational). I can talk about how I live with a life changing condition alongside being a full time Para Dressage athlete; my story and sports journey, my work with two charities who I act as an Ambassador for and lots of other subjects. I have done two workshops for the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy; as well as talked to rotary clubs, a school, a group of guides and talked at a few business lunches. I am a European Silver Medalist (team) striving towards selection for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and winning a gold ..read more

We started the month off with a sports massage from Lee for both me and Damo. It was great to hear from Lee how good Damo felt. I was especially tight so mine was much needed. My new KASK helmet which I have spoken about in the past made its first appearance ahead of Hartpury CPEDI3*. My new helmet has a GB flag on it with a silver rim to represent my European Silver Medal and the front gold which represents my goals/wishes for the next colour medal. Damo settled in straight away at Hartpury and we set up camp for the week ahead. Damo flew through the trot up after the arena familiarisation in ..read more

What a month it’s been and so many wonderful things have happened. The sun was shining, and the water was flat, perfect weather for rowing. I’m really starting to get the boat moving which is super exciting. I had another great session at Performance Hertfordshire, working on my unassisted pull ups as well as other exercises. I was wearing my Anders t-shirt which is a wonderful charity who support me. I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee, we had my granny over so we watched most things on the tv. We all went out for a lovely Jubilee afternoon tea which was delicious ..read more

Sky had a break after his fantastic performances in Belgium; which gave me a chance to concentrate on Bear and our preparations for the Para Home International (PHI) I got the news that Sky had qualified for the Gold Semi Finals in June and Bear just needed two more points which I am hoping to get in the qualifier class at the Para Home International (PHI). April Blog Can’t believe another month has gone by already. Sorry this blog is late I’ve just spent a great two weeks in America with my sister and niece. We had a wonderful time and some lovely memories were made, being so far apart is really hard but the time we spent together is very special. Whilst away I gave myself a very well deserved four days off, my previous two days off was Christmas! After that I did all my weight training, mobs and stretches, some swimming and my hand bike training. So the only thing that I didn’t do was erg for 2 weeks as there was no adapted rowing machine that ..read more
