We are playing on a numbered course this month. We are using historical courses from January 2022 for all of the courses except the Intern 40x85. For some reason when the Intern 40x85 was designed, the A-frame was taken twice which really was not necessary.
There are a couple of fun things about running historical courses. First, if you ran the course back in January 2022, you get to compare your new run with your old run. This can really demonstrate to you how much you and your dog have learned. Or, it can show how an older dog is running compared to the previous run. For example, does the o ..read more

This month we are playing on an historical course for the 60x90 league. For nesting purposes, the 50x70 and 40x85 leagues will be playing a similar game. The courses run at the same time as the historical 60x90 course were not nested and were not games courses.
There are a few interesting things to note about running historical courses. First, most players will get a boost on LPP than they would normally because an historical course has been run by many dogs. The current run is compared to all dogs who have ever run the course, so LPP calculations include those dogs. Second, if your dog has pr ..read more

The spreadsheet linked below lists the all-time LPP totals for all league dogs from the inception of the league in 2012. The pivot table can be filtered and modified.
I will be posting updates soon about Top Dogs and titles earned. We have one club who was unable to run the December course d/t weather. They planned to run that course this past weekend and should be sending me the results soon. As a result, some dogs may see a small bump in the their LPP totals. That may change the Top Dog for December as well as for the third season of 2023, so I will hold off on posting who that is.

We are playing on a numbered course this month. The 60x90 is based on a TDAA course we are running in a trial this weekend. Obviously, I modified it for the bigger dogs. The 50x70 and 40x85 were modified from the 60x90. I hope you guys enjoy the challenge.
Scoring: Time, plus Faults.

Briefing:
Objective: The objective of The Weakest Link is to score as many points as possible in the allotted time.
Briefing: The dog must start behind the start line; handlers may lead out. The start line is bidirectional. The handler directs the dog to any obstacle to earn points. Each obstacle taken by the dog must be worth as much as or more than the previous obstacle. Any decrease in point value would weaken the chain of obstacles and break the chain, hence the name of the game. Please note that four paws equals commitment; if the dog commits to an obstacle of ..read more

I had an interesting discussion with Heather Esdon from PAWS4Fun about scoring this month’s courses. At the end of the discussion is the briefing for the month and the 60x90 map. I will use the 60x90 map as an example.
Discussion:
Unfortunately, I had a clear picture in my mind when I explained one of the details to Heather and caused even more confusion. Here is my attempt to explain it to everyone. I sincerely hope this helps.
Scenario 1: The dog takes 1 and 2 but accidentally takes the WC to the backside of 6. The score at this point would be 2, and they need to go back to 1 to get back on ..read more
