At tonight's meeting (Monday 28 June) we have Maria from TatterTales in Waipawa coming to talk to us about what this business does. Currently working as a Fibre Artist, featuring natural textiles, natural dyes, paper making, printmaking, book Crafts. She is affiliated with TatterTales, Waipawa, Textiles Studio, as a maker and tutor. Maria is an advocate for repurposing textiles. She is an Art History and Art teacher with a love for textiles, research and social history. Our April Meeting night is coming up. This will definitely be held on Monday 26th April even though this is ANZAC official commemoration day. The doors will open at 7pm and meeting starts at 7:30pm.  Our guest speaker this evening will be Alison Gracie from Feilding. Alison creates new fashion from recycled clothing and has entered wearable art type shows. She will share her processes and some finished garments with us. A very entertaining speaker. Tote & Gloat is our wonderful one day event to be held on Saturday May 8th at Arena 2, Pascal Street in Palmerston North.  The first meeting for Rose City Quilters is Monday 25th January 2021 . Doors open at 7pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm. The guest speaker tonight is Kirsten Duncan from Christchurch. Kirsten used to live in Palmerston North, then moved to Australia, opened a quilt shop and then moved back to NZ to live in Christchurch. RCQ Club Member wins NZ Quilt Challenge

 Earlier this month a club member won the Brother NZ Quilt Challenge for 2020. Sheryl got a big surprise when Christine, the Brother rep, and Dianne (Brother dealer) turned up on her doorstep to announce she had won the challenge and present her prize - a Brother PQ1500SL.
