So if we have gotten to the end of the list and you haven’t seen your favourite place, let me know which cafe it is and why it is so good! spoken about Koffi before in my Haultain Corners article . It has to be the best coffee shop in one of the most bizarre places in Victoria. Of course, this just proves my point that there are great places wherever you go in the city. Koffi makes you want to go there, with its stark orange furniture outside of the simple modernist building. Once you go in, you can tell that it is not just a great coffee shop but also that it is a central hub for the communit ..read more

I hope I didn’t miss a place though if I did I would love to hear about it (and likely go and try it immediately!). I do hope that we start to see more pizza places around town that sell slices because like I said, along with hot dogs, it really is the quintessential urban food. though there are a lot of choices in this area in Cook Street which is very similar to Superior Pizza in style and quality. There also used to be an in Fairfield Plaza that served some of the best pizza by the slice in the city and certainly with some of the most creative toppings. Unfortunately, the Fairfield location ..read more

Citified is the most comprehensive resource for researching a new-build home or commercial space in metro Victoria and southern Vancouver Island. on View Street just east of Vancouver. While the new location is not large by any measure, it is still likely twice as big as their old location. I went there just the other day and the soup remains delicious. I had the Spicy Pork Ramen, while the flavoured eggs are always disappointingly hard boiled, the noodles and broth are excellent. You also generally get a very large amount of meat in your bowl. One of the things that was great about their old ..read more

I know that there are a tonne of other small grocery options around Greater Victoria, even just outside of downtown like the Local General Store in Oaklands or the Island Afrikan Supermarket in Quadra Village but I needed to cut the list off somewhere. If you have a favourite that is not on the list, make sure to put it in the comments. And if you are going shopping downtown, why not try and pick something up at one of these stores, even if you are going to finish your shop at Save On. Mon - Fri 10am - 630pm Sat & Sun 1030am - 530pm on Shelbourne. It certainly is the largest (and only?) on ..read more

That is the list. If you didn’t see your favourite or you disagree with my assessment, make sure to set me straight in the comments! pointed out to me on Reddit , this is not true. La Taqueria was also an import to Victoria), Tacofino is our imported one. Tacofino started out as a food truck in Tofino before really hitting it off in Vancouver. It was well into this popularity that Tacofino opened its first Victoria location on Fort Street where Burger Crush is now located (also a former food truck).
