Texas has just restricted a woman’s ability to access an abortion, making abortion illegal if you have been pregnant longer than six weeks. Now the Biden administration is suing the Texas government, claiming the new abortion law is unconstitutional.
In effect, Texas overturned the landmark decision in Roe vs Wade, where the US Supreme Court ruled that the United States’ Constitution protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction.

South Australia is the latest Australian jurisdiction to formally decriminalise abortion, after the state's upper house ticked off new laws.
The passage of the Termination of Pregnancy Bill on Tuesday came after the lower house in February passed the legislation 29 votes to 15.
It was then sent back to the upper house for final approval, which has now occurred.

Protesting outside South Australian abortion clinics has been outlawed after new laws passed the Upper House in State Parliament late last night.
The bill, which was passed about 10:00pm on Wednesday, makes it an offence to protest within 150 metres of an abortion clinic.
