Ubisoft has announced in a press release that its recent multiplayer pirate game Skull and Bones has “record player engagement” and that its players are spending more time with it per day than nearly any other Ubisoft release. It certainly demonstrates that many players have sunk a lot of time into the game, however it doesn’t tell us much about the game’s overall sales numbers or playerbase size. In a move we’ve long awaited, Remedy Entertainment has acquired full rights to the Control franchise from 505 Games. This transaction encompasses all aspects of publishing, distribution, marketing, and future development of Control, codename Condor, and Control 2.   All rights previously licensed to 505 Games revert to Remedy, with 505 Games continuing as the publisher of Control during a transition period until 31 December 2024. After what has already been a devastating week of job losses in the video game industry, Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it is also undergoing mass layoffs, with plans to let go 5% of its global staff or roughly 670 individuals. The Pokémon Company has announced a brand new instalment of Pokémon Legends during its recent Pokémon Presents presentation. A teaser video for Pokémon Legends: Z-A was shown at the end of the livestream. While not much was shown in terms of gameplay, it was hinted that the game would take place during the urban redevelopment of Lumose City, which is the main city of the Kalos Region.
