Sorry guys, I'm asking what's already been asked but I can't find my issue.   I'm using blue Chinese covering - I am covering in white and blue but I am getting white smears on the blue. This is happening on parts where I am not applying any white but there is a chance there is some residue on the covering iron sock (although it only shows up towards the end of the process so it's hard a few passes of the iron).   I've taken an photo:     Is this likely to come off with some liquid like nail polish remover or white spirit? (Didn't want to apply something that will mean I h ..read more

I found these connections for XT60 type battery - ESC fittings.       screwed to the external of your fuselage .....     The reverse side .......     external plug with which to form the connecting loop to complete the circuit .....     and plugged in place .......   You can now make an external isolating plug for your leccies ........   I think its handy as some of the hatches giving you access to your battery after a flight are these plastic screw down hatches which take ages to open. With this ..... pull out the loop and kill the pow ..read more

Good afternoon, and a great new year to you all. I have some very fine copper tubing (it's 1.5mm outside dia.) The problem is that I need to cut it into 10mm lengths (many many of them) I have one of these dinky little tube cutters, but it's not capable of cutting such a small tube. I've tried rolling the tube under a knife, but it really doesn't work. Any ideas?  ernie ..read more

As the title suggests ...... I am after 2mm M2 dooberies.   Little push rod connectors ..... threaded both ends ..... about say 2 inches long.   I ordered some snakes from SLEC and rather than ordering the versions with fittings included, I just ordered the inner and outer tubes ..... I already have 2mm clevises but forgot that I did not have the doobries.   The SLEC spec says 2mm but I only see 3mm on line.   I would prefer to buy in bulk .... say packs of at least 10.   Any help appreciated   Toto ..read more

I know its been done before but its easier to start again.    We have a new 3d CAD package here and i have tasked with finding a 3d printer so we can prototype bits before mashing metal. I am told £300 is the budget.    What is good for that sort of money? i know nothing about 3d printers but i know many of you guys are well versed so suggestions would be most welcome.  ..read more

Hi friends, I'm opening this new thread of mine to share my experiences, techniques, mistakes and suggestions with all fans of this hobby. What I want to talk to you about today is the creation of a kevlar tank for a turbine jet that I will soon set up: a 2.2mt "Predator" by PilotRc. Even if there are several videos on this topic on the net, my thread wants to be "down to earth", simple simple, made not by a professional but by a model maker who continues to have the passion to "try" and put himself to the test. Let's start from the model: for this tank I was inspired by what PilotRc sells sep ..read more

Hi guys, i need some replacement pushrod for my Boomerang (throttle).   The original is damaged, i went to my local hobby shop and he gave me a replacement but it seems thinner than the original, so much so it flexes alot, the original one is stiff with no flex.   What thickness do i need so it has no bendy flex from just holding it!?, is it 1mm or 1.5mm?   i also need the tube for it too so it can pass through the sections etc.   Thanks ..read more

I've filed flats for undercarriage legs before, but never very accurately or neatly and usually just on piano wire legs. As I am installing Electron retracts with beefy pins I'm looking for pointers of the best method and steps involved to do a decent job please. The units have single set screws for the connecting pin on both sides of the trunion and dual set screws on both sides of the legs.   Any advice most welcome, TIA   Charles ..read more
