There was so much to celebrate at Maddy + Mitch’s wedding day at the Bearspaw Lion’s Club: the closing of the “long-distance” chapter of their relationship, their commitment to stand by one another for forever, and having all their friends + family from across Canada in one room. It had been a few years since I photographed at Azuridge, so I was thrilled when Lauren + Tyler told me their wedding was going to be held there! I absolutely love this property - there are so many unique and interesting backdrops for photos so you never have to head offsite for photos. Their love story could be a movie - boy meets girl, girl is dating another boy, so boy decides to patiently waits because according to him: “I knew I had met the love of my life when she smiled at me". So when the time finally comes when girl is no longer in a relationship, boy makes a point to check in on girl. I could not have been more excited to celebrate with Ginny + Jack at their fall wedding at Charbar. I’ve been eyeing up this venue since I first started photographing weddings, so I was absolutely PUMPED when Ginny + Jack told me this was the venue they had chosen. This was my first time getting to photograph a wedding at Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant (located in Fish Creek Park) and I couldn't have been more excited to do so. Choosing a location for your engagement session can be tricky. When couples come to me asking for an ideas, the first thing I’ll tell them is to thing of a location that holds some sort of meaning - it can be where you had your first date, where you got engaged, or somewhere you simply like to hang out. What a joy it was getting to celebrate with Aibhera + Paulo on their wedding day. Their ceremony was held at St. Albert the Great Church, followed by portraits at Rotary Park and Platform 9 parkade (two of my fav spots). A love story as old as time - an evening at the Ship and Anchor Pub, boy “accidentally” orders too many tequila shots and asks girl and her friend if they wanted one (an “offer I couldn’t refuse” says girl). From the moment I read Megan + Brennan’s initial inquiry, I knew I was going to love them. “Backyard reception” “Homemade wine'“ “Burger bar'“ "Magical mix of woodland fairytale + backyard lawn games party" “Mini Aussidoodle ring bearer” (!!!!!) It was an absolute joy to celebrate with Brandon + Tiffany and their families. From their engagement session in the mountains last year to their wedding day a few weeks ago, I have loved getting to know these two and was delighted to celebrate with them and their families.
