 Julie and Jeff had such a fun wedding party, their group was out to have a good time celebrating these two and they had lots of jokes and banter. We took photos in the gardens, by the dinosaurs and even in the carousel at The Calgary Zoo. After their outdoor ceremony in the gardens we were able to wander the grounds a bit more and visit the penguins!  The Enmax Conservatory held their reception, with speeches and tears before the dance party got going. September is a wild month for us, if you are a close friend of ours you just know we will see you in the winter! October has brought more travel for us as we headed to the mountains quite a bit this month. We don’t mind though, the mountains scenery this time of year is pretty special! Nicky and Matt expressed how much they love spending their free time camping and hiking, so it only made perfect sense we headed to Upper Kananakis to really get those Rocky Mountains in the background of their engagement photos. As we sit here with snow dumping on the ground we are already missing the wonderful magic of this year’s fall in Calgary. It may have just been the nicest fall, there, we said it. Bonny and Priscilla wanted those golden colours for their engagement session and they picked the best year for it. We spent the evening with them at Carburn Park, just getting to know them as the sun set on all the yellow, red and green trees. When Jessica and Jody reached out to us, they expressed how they wanted soft-romantic vibes for their wedding reception and what better venue to achieve that dream than The Lake House. We love that we live so close to Kananaskis country, with its mountain views and emerald ponds, it’s special to get to use this spot for our engagement photography. Especially during an engagement session, when we get to spend time getting to know our couples and just having some fun with our cameras. We met Jessica and Jody for their engagement session in East Village and we had such a fun time incorporating the textures of the Calgary Central Library and the into their session. Lilac trees were in bloom and we were able to get those beautiful purple and pink flowers in a few photos as well. Spending an evening photographing an engagement session as such a treat for us. We really get to know our couples and just have some fun before the wedding day.
