This June I rented a car and drove  across Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I felt so alive. There were beach days, storm days, and days when I didn’t stop driving. Taking this trip made me realize how similar I am to my father. He’s the drive non-stop and visit every single harbour within sight kind of traveler. That’s pretty much what I did, add in a beach or two. I wasn’t 100% alone on this solo trip. I met with Bailey and Matt in Halifax, and they took me on the best city tour I’ve ever had. Thank you Matt for sharing your Haligonian trivia with me. I’ve already pu ..read more

When I was little, nothing caused panic more in my family than an upcoming family photo session. It seemed to make us all go bonkers. So much stress over what to wear, how long it would take, if we were going to leave the house on time, etc. Now that I’m a little bit more grown up the stress is all gone. I freaking love family photo sessions. These sessions are EVERYTHING to me. More so than your wedding photos, these are the photos you’re most likely to display around the house and look at time and time again. When working with Edmonton and Alberta families to plan their session, I guide you ..read more

We Did Something Really Cool On December 7th & 8th you rallied and donated 42 toys in support of 630 CHED Santas Anonymous. A huge thank you to everyone who came out for a bit of Christmas magic and cheer. I first dreamed up this project in November on a couch in Guelph Ontario. Now that it’s over, I am inspired to start this project earlier next year and keep building! Thank you to everyone who helped make this a reality: my Mom, my dear friend Nhu, all of the folks who shared booking info with their friends and family, and mother nature for gifting us beautiful snow just in time. Feeling a tad nervous for your wedding ceremony? You’re not the only one! A wedding ceremony can have more moving pieces than the rest of your wedding day and that can be a little daunting. Not all wedding ceremonies are the same — ceremony traditions vary across cultures and there is no set size for the number of attendees! Depending on the number of folks involved in your wedding ceremony, and their degree of familiarity with the type of ceremony, it’s not a bad idea to have a run through to help calm any nerves. This allows everyone involved in the wedding to know where they will be and whe ..read more

No one in Edmonton expects it to be 38 °C on their wedding day but on July 1st, 2021, that’s exactly what Amy and Mike woke up to. Having already postponed their wedding due to Covid-19 restrictions these two didn’t let the hot dry summer heat get in the way of their celebration! Brought up in farming families, these high school sweethearts planned a western wedding day that perfectly fit their love story. I worked with Amy to create a timeline with plenty of room for photos, some much needed downtime, and most importantly time to celebrate with friends and family. The pre-planned downtime pro ..read more

There’s nothing like the sparkling turquoise waters of Two Jack Lake for an intimate mountain wedding ceremony — Nicole & Jorden picked the most magical location for their “I do’s!” After an early morning first look at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir Nicole & Jorden enjoyed brunch with their closest friends and family before their lakeside intimate mountain wedding ceremony. Things I’m absolutely obsessed with? Nicole’s chic bridal style, the minimal ceremony decor (the mountains style themselves!) and their unconventional wedding timeline. If there is one thing I’ve learned from the last two years everyone (both clients and photographers) uses the term “mini session” BUT not everyone knows what a “mini session” actually is. Mini sessions allow you as the photographer to control almost every aspect of the session and that usually means more dollars in your pocket. Time Blocks for Mini Sessions If you’re advertising “minis” as stand alone sessions ..read more
