Fresh Water Bay Yacht Club wedding

One of my most favourite moments of a wedding is when the groom sees his bride for the first time. Sometimes his jaw drops. Other times his whole face will light up. And sometimes he is so overcome with emotion he sheds a tear or two. And when that happens I feel myself whelming up inside as well, I feel the whole blown impact of that moment for him. No matter how many times I've seen it, I still get teary. It's a beautiful thing. James couldn't hold back when he saw his stunning wife to be Claire walk down the aisle. Understandable really, she radiated a beauty that took everyone's breath awa ..read more

When love conquers rain

It was one of those anomoly Perth summer days when it rained. And not just rained, by night fall it was as if all the rain clouds in the world were passing by to drop their heavy loads on our normally parched Perth landscape.  But that didn't dampen Nathan and Tayla's wedding. Because no amount of rain would be able to take the magic away from this beautiful couple. They took their chances on an outdoor ceremony at Matilda Bay where, as they said their vows, we saw the rain coming in across the river, ready to drench us all. But then most astonishingly, as if knowing there was something a ..read more

Love in the time of Covid

On the 31st December 2021 I shot my final wedding. Or so I thought. But when Western Australian borders opened up, it was hard to resist a request from Anneli and Nick to photograph their low key, backyard boho style wedding. Anneli and Nick’s story began 11 years ago in Sweden, and has weathered the storm of brief interludes of long distance love and moving across continents to be together. Like so many couples in Perth, it has been a waiting game, trying to work out when and if their friends and families from overseas and interstate will be able to celebrate with them. Combine that with the ..read more

A summer night's dream wedding at the Catalina Room

In the distance kids jumped off the jetty into the Swan River with squeals of delight, paddle boarders and kayakers smiled as they paddled past and the smell of barbeques wafted down river as Laura and Brock said 'I Do' at the water's edge of our iconic Matilda Bay. It's a place of childhood memories for Perthians,  but for Laura and Brock it will forever be somewhere to spend idylic afternoons on anniversaries to come and remember what a magical day was had. With an exquiste gown by Galleria Couture, Laura wowed not just Brock but every kyaker, paddle boarder and picnicing family in the ..read more

It was third time lucky, in between co-vid restrictions that Karen and Ward finally got a break and were able to go ahead with their simple yet beautiful wedding at the North Perth Town Hall in April. Winter wonderland wedding at the Boatshed

They were predicting big storms to hit on Kieran and Hannah’s wedding day. But the only thing that was making a storm was Hannah’s entrance as she walked down the aisle taking everyone’s breath away in her stunning Louis Col gown. The wild winter weather was notably absent as the couple said their vows under a riverside marquee in South Perth followed by a reception at the Boathshed where the city lights twinkled across the river as they laughed and danced and ate and drank into the night ..read more

Cottesloe Beach Wedding

It was that typical lazy summer vibe at Cottesloe Beach when the last of the bathers and beach goers paused from packing up their umbrellas and towels and burst into applause to cheer the newly weds Jo and Pete, as they headed down to the shore for a few snaps. To the beachgoers, the bride and groom’s appearance was a lovely end to just another ripper day in WA. But for Perth girl Jo, who now lives in NSW with Pete, it was the perfect start to the rest of her life with her new husband whilst treating their guests to an iconic Cottesloe Beach sunset from the balcony of the Cottesloe Beach Hotel ..read more

North Fremantle Guildhall Wedding

On the night before his wedding Andy and his brothers spent hours knee deep in the river beside the old bridge in North Fremantle, etching his love for his wife-to-be on the river bed. Together they moved huge rocks into a heart shape containing the letters A + E, large enough to be read from high up in the sky - should a plane be passing by. And now it stakes Andy and Meiske’s claim on a place where they love to hang out, fish and drink beers. Andy and Meiske aren’t the type to kowtow to traditions. So the big white shebang was never going to be their thing. Instead they walked down the aisle ..read more

Core Cider House wedding in the hills

Harriet and Anthony had been planning their wedding for two years. The setting would overlook rows of apple orchards in full bloom on a sunny spring day at the Core Cider House in the Perth Hills. Harriet’s dress was given to her from her sister in law and altered to fit perfectly. But then that all changed when they found out they were pregnant. And so to accommodate the growing bump, Harriet sourced a stunning lace A-line dress online. It might not have been what they originally planned but, seeing them as a family already with the bump gently kicking now and then throughout the day, it was ..read more

Wow factor wedding at Darlington Estate

There was something so gentle between Becca and Andrew. An understanding between one another from a single glance, a simple gesture. A tenderness and patience that you just know will always be the foundation of their togetherness, that will last the test of time. They celebrated with friends and family in the picturesque Darlington Estate in the Perth hills, overlooking vineyards nestled between stretching forests of Eucalyptus and native trees. It felt like a million miles away from anywhere - a perfect sanctury to hold sacred the vows of marriage. As the winter sun cast its last golden light ..read more
