Tomorrow Wisconsin takes on Georgia Southern in Camp Randall. Last week Wisconsin lost to Washington State on the road. The Badgers pass offense looked pretty good. It looks like Wisconsin finally has a good quarterback. Our wide receivers looked very talented too. Georgia Southern beat Nebraska last year, but Wisconsin should still win. This Saturday Wisconsin travels to Washington to take on WSU. Washington State beat the Badgers last year. Wisconsin out gained them in yards and most every stats of the game. The one stat they did not win was the points and that is the most important stat of all. We are going into the game with a lot of new faces and new offensive and defensive schemes. On Saturday Wisconsin took on Buffalo in the hottest game ever in school history. Wisconsin started off slowly on Saturday. The score at halftime was 14-10. Tanner Mordecai threw two interceptions in the game. His first interception came after Skylar Bell dropped an easy touchdown. He threw the ball behind the wide receiver on the first pick. Mordecai’s second interception came, because he didn’t see a defender. Tanner did throw one touchdown in the first half to Chimere Dike. Wisconsin is having a spring practice/game open to the public this year. The Badgers have not had a spring practice or game since Gary Anderson was coach. Luke Fickell has said they are going to have a spring launch. Wisconsin fans got very excited when coach fick announced it. This week Luke Fickell hired Devon Spalding. Devon grew up in Michigan then went to Central Michigan for college. At CMU he played running back and wide receiver. After he graduated in 2018, he took a graduate assistant position at Cincinnati under Luke Fickell. Since 2020, he has been the running backs coach at Youngstown State. Last year his running backs averaged 202 yards a game. The Badgers running backs coach was Al Johnson. Johnson was an all American center at Wisconsin. Wisconsin got another wide receiver, Bryson Green. He played his first two seasons at Oklahoma State. Bryson caught 36 passes, for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns, last season. This is the fourth wide receiver from the transfer portal this year. They all all have multiple years of eligibility left . The Badgers now have a very deep and talented wide receiver room. Last week Wisconsin added a second transfer quarterback from SMU. Tanner Mordecai started his college carrier at Oklahoma, before transferring to SMU in 2021. He was a four star coming out of high school. When he got to Oklahoma, he was the back up to Kyler Murray and then to Spencer Rattlier. Tanner saw the writing on the wall, that he was not going to get any playing time for the Sooners. In 2021, he took his talents to SMU to play for Sunny Dykes. December 21st was the early national signing day for college football. Wisconsin signed fourteen players from all over. The class size might be small, but it’s very talented. Coach Fickell was able to get three four star players. He also got a three star quarterback, who is one of the most underrated recruits in the country. This signing class is very defense heavy. Luke Fickell ran a lot of 11 personnel and 12 personnel at Cincinnati. Eleven personal is one running back, one tight end, and three wide receivers. Twelve personnel is one running back, two tight ends, and two wide receivers. Wisconsin ran a lot of 12 personnel over Chryst’s tenure. Last Sunday Wisconsin hired Luke Fickell to be their next football coach. Luke spent the last six years at Cincinnati. He leaves with a 57-18 record. In 2021, he took the Bearcats to the college football playoffs. It was the first time a group of five team made it to the playoffs. 2017 was his worst year, where he went 4-8.
