I’m in need of a competent Gunsmith to install a standard Front sight base on a virgin 20” AR15 barrel. I have the FSB and taper pins but waiting on the barrel, barrel nut, handgaurd end cap and sling swivel in the mail. I also need the rear sight assembly installed on an A2 upper receiver. I am considering cut the barrel on my open top. This is a gun that I never plan to get rid of so it will always be with me simply because of the cool factor. I am thinking of trying to make it cooler by cutting the barrel down to even with the ejector rod housing. It is currently a 5 1/2 barrel, not sure where it would put it if I cut it. Hi folks: My stepfather recently passed away, and I inherited an M1 Garand and 1903 Springfield. He left them in a closet that wasn't humidity controlled, and there seems to be some white mildew on the stock of both of them. The internals seem to be in good shape, but the wood on both of them are covered with the mildew.
