I would like to build a 'pre war' style Colt 9mm complete with period correct rollmarks. I would like the left side to have the pre 1920ish rollmarks and the right side to read "Colt Automatic Calibre 9mm". Turnbull says they wont put rollmarks on anything that isn't from that period. A 9mm 1911 Government Model I recently purchased has a spring guide tunnel that is too small for a standard dimension spring guide, so the butt end of the spring guide jams in this tunnel and will not seat against the recoil shoulders machined into the frame. Do any of you know someone that can turn the plug end of a spring guide down a few thousandths of an inch? Besides the obvious..cracks, bulge, crown damage, etc. How do you know when to replace a barrel? Here’s my background info: Round count? I shot in 5 USPSA divisions and cannot tell you the exact round count. Over 10k probably. Over 30k probably not. Do I shoot beyond 25 yards? Not if i have to. Beyond 50 yards?
