This came up in a thread last week. It caused a bit of a dust-up in our usually calm millpond. I wanted to know the answer to this question so I went to the range this morning with three 1911s all of which are chambered in .45. I brought along a box of new factory 230gr FMJ. You can see the pistols I brought in the pic below. From the top: 4¼" Commander built on an Elite Warrior aluminum frame and Caspian slide, a 6" built on a JEM frame and Caspian slide, and a 5" also built on a JEM... I don't have pics but on occasion the next round misses the chamber and ends up bullet up sticking out top of slide. I've seen nose dives on 1911s but this is a new one to me. I was using S&B 180s the first 500 rounds but it is listed week velocity wise. I bought some Blazer Brass 180s to try and this happened very often. Yes it's range fodder but it should run. She does this with either mag that came with pistol. Anyone else see this? Any ideas? I appreciate it ..read more

I'm doing an amateur trigger job on my new 442, and THIS little bugger fell out while I was detail stripping it. It's plastic. I have no idea where it came from or what it's for. It fell out the same time as the firing pin and spring. What am I missing ..read more
