This came up in a thread last week. It caused a bit of a dust-up in our usually calm millpond. I wanted to know the answer to this question so I went to the range this morning with three 1911s all of which are chambered in .45. I brought along a box of new factory 230gr FMJ. I don't have pics but on occasion the next round misses the chamber and ends up bullet up sticking out top of slide. I've seen nose dives on 1911s but this is a new one to me. I was using S&B 180s the first 500 rounds but it is listed week velocity wise. I bought some Blazer Brass 180s to try and this happened very often. Yes it's range fodder but it should run. She does this with either mag that came with pistol. Anyone else see this? Any ideas? I appreciate it ..read more
