I have a Tesco BKRD 30 gunsight that I just acquired on a Highpoint 9 mm carbine. The gun has been setting up a while, and the rubber coating on. The gun site has started to get sticky and I can’t seem to get it clean anyhow. I’ve used dish soap on a rag and tried to scrub it clean, but it still is tacky. Does anyone have any ideas on how to clean it or is it no use it since it seems to have started breaking down ..read more

Everything above is new, never been fired. All screws for ring bases and ring halves were tightened to recommended torques with a Lyman in/lb torque wrench. Not having a 6.5mm/.264 barrel stud to accomplish bore-sighting myself, I had the "smith" at the gun store perform the bore-sighting to the grid of his collimator tool, which I assume was a 100 yard setting. I noticed the adjustments for wind-age and elevation (1 click = 1/4 inch) was equal for both turrets, 13 click marks. This... The trigger would not reset. I had to push it forward. Then the pull was very heavy. When i looked into it. Here the one leg on the trigger spring was bent out. But not all the way to coil. It was bent out part way up. I wonder what could have caused that? I put another spring in. It's good now ..read more

While cleaning my carbine and something never do is letting it stand up against the bench. Well, I nudged it with my chair making it slide and thud against the ammo cans. I picked up ad no scratches or any other damage until I looked the front sight. The front bead on the site was gone and I found it on the floor sheered clean from the sight. My Henry front beads are made of brass not plastic. I called the manufacturer and asked if I could get a replacement under warranty? I sent them a... My Glock 44 came with night sights. I don't like them. So i tackled putting the stock sights on it. I don't have a sight pusher. So i used a short piece of glun gun stick. It worked great. I can see the Glock sights good. The rear sights are adjustable too ..read more

I was cleaning my lowers. And noticed one had the hammer spring in upside down. It always worked like that 4.5-5lb pull on the trigger. No light strikes or failure to reset. I put it in the correct way. 8 lb pull! So i put back they way they had it. I flipped all mine around. Boy what a difference. I tested them for primer set off. I just put a primer in a case and fired, All went off. I also let the bolt fly home too. No discharge. Now to range test them. I'll be cautious at the range on...
